Poll Results

The polls are closed and once again, you, the voters, have sent a message — to Big Media and to the U.S. Senate.

One question asked how many times a week you typically watch at least one of the Big Three network evening newscasts, on ABC, NBC or CBS.  The results would not put a smile on the faces of network news executives.

Seven percent of you said you watch about once a week.

Four percent said you watch twice a week.

Only one percent watch three times a week.

Four percent of you watch more than three times a week.

That leaves 84 percent who said they normally don’t watch any of the evening newscasts on network television.

It’s been said that the evening news is an idea whose time has come – and gone.  The results of our poll seem to drive home that point.

Our second question involved Judge Sonia Sotomayor, who was nominated by President Obama to take the place of Justice David Souter on the United States Supreme Court.

The question said that while most analysts agree she will win approval, we wanted to know:  Should she be confirmed?  Eighty-four percent of our voters said No.  Just 16 percent said yes.

Thanks to all who voted.  Watch for our next poll, coming very soon.
