Could This Be Bye-bye Obama?

Political scandals come, and political scandals go, but they all smell the same.

I am going to go way out on a limb here, and predict that President Obama will be forced to resign from office before the end of his second term, because of Benghazi-gate, just as one of his esteemed predecessors, Richard Nixon, did because of Watergate.

It will be the last, nasty practical joke inflicted upon our country by this ill-natured, incompetent boob of a President – because look at who we will get as his successor!

I decided that Obama was bound to resign because I don’t think any presidency can survive more than four years of the fully justified drubbing that Obama already is receiving from the alternative media. His mishandling of our foreign affairs is exemplified, though not limited to, his mishandling of the Benghazi tragedy.
Being incompetent isn’t quite enough cause for impeachment, and Obama would never acknowledge that he is incompetent in any event. But when you add in the lies, the deceptions, the cover-up, and when all the gory details of this disgraceful shell game finally get disclosed, as they will, to the American public, you have a presidency that simply cannot remain viable.

I don’t know whether the worthless mainstream media, which in its more honorable days led the charge in ousting Nixon, will continue to “circle the wagons,” as Rush Limbaugh puts it, around their precious President. I still have enough belief in our nation’s journalistic tradition to assume that there must be some mainstreamers out there who will break ranks and join the better cause.

Where are all those young idealists who enrolled at journalism schools in record numbers after Watergate? Some of them are still batting away at their keyboards, and if enough of them decide to do the right thing, it will be Hello Again, Chicago for Obama and his lovely family.

It wasn’t until today that I mustered enough certainty to publicly predict Obama’s premature departure from the Oval Office. It happened when a reporter at his news conference asked Obama to respond to the attack by Republican Senators McCain and Graham on Obama’s United Nations ambassador, Susan Rice. The senators said they would do whatever they could to ensure that Rice, who has been mentioned as a possible successor to Secretary of State Clinton, does not receive that promotion, because of her involvement in Benghazi-gate.

Rice, you no doubt recall, went on five different Sunday political talk shows a week after the Benghazi attack, to spread the administration’s propaganda – which already had been thoroughly discredited – that the attack which killed our ambassador to Libya and three other Americans had been prompted by an anti-Muslim video. (The producer of the video has just begun a one-year term in a California prison, supposedly for parole violation. Yeah, right! This is just Obama’s kiss-up #546 to America’s enemies.)

Obama gallantly rode to Rice’s defense. He seems to have a bit of a thing for her. Michelle ought to take note.

Obama said: “…let me say specifically about Susan Rice, she has done exemplary work. She has represented the United States and our interests in the United Nations with skill, and professionalism, and toughness, and grace.”

Echoes of Watergate! Maybe you aren’t old enough to remember everything that went on during the Watergate drama, but I am, and I was following the events so closely at the time that every word of every participant has been forever etched in my mind. So, this is what I remember:

When Bob Haldeman and John Ehrlichman, two top White House staffers who had been implicated in the Watergate scandal, were forced to resign, Nixon went on TV and called them “two of the finest public servants it has been my privilege to know.”

Neither of those fine gentlemen, who wound up serving time in prison, was by any stretch of the imagination a “public servant.” They were Nixon’s personal servants, Nixon’s myrmidons.

Susan Rice and the rest of the lying cabal, including Obama himself, Hillary Clinton, Jay Carney and, sad to say, perhaps General Petraeus, are not public servants. They serve their own interests, exclusively.

Good riddance to the lot of them.  Better sooner than later, guys.

at that point, the VIDEO thing was still not debunked. she reported wha was happening at that point in time. get a new fishing rod.

What trash. Forced to resign? Because the CIA took 25, not 20 minutes to arrive on the scene at Beghazi? Re. AHCA, if those 4 million new jobs come thru and if GM and Chrysler keep hiring and selling, worldwide 14 million vehicles by the end of 2013, we’ll see. Your writing is so biased and juvenile, I can’t see how even a Fox exponent like Bernie would allow it.

Neither “normal” or “human”, I suspect.

Obama has a SENATE MAJORITY which means he will not be impeached nor removed from office. The primrose path has been set on November 6th by well placed mirrors accompanied by misleading and equivocal smoke. Notwithstanding a weak House Speaker…..which means we will not be seeing any GOP fiscal backbone nor any fiduciary constitutional due diligence.

  • wally

I work in the electrical field, we use insulators to protect against deadly forces of high voltage. Obama was using Susan Rice as a supposed insulator. “I don’t know where she got this information”. You get the picture.

He got “elected” the same way Putin, Castro twins, Chavez, Kim Jung Un etc etc get elected then re-elected.

  • http://www.facebook.com/dusty.thompson.169 Dusty Thompson

Yea right… The American Media and the Communist Party USA will never allow that to happen.

The man and his accolytes ignored or even went against the Constitution his entire 1st term but THIS time is different? LOL. Are you high?

    • http://www.facebook.com/phil.silverman.9 Phil Silverman

explain specifically where they “went against” the constitution, please. Thank U.

  • DanB_Tiffin

Wow! That is out on a limb. It would be nice, but I do not think it will happen. HE is above the law and he knows it.

  • AllenJ

Frankly, I think you all should get past Benghazi. It’s a little overblown. In the same vein, let’s put the GWB administration’s fumbling of the al Qaeda attacks in 2001 behind us too. The blame game can be so much fun, but it’s ultimately pointless unless we all learn from the mistakes.

  • Johnny Deadline

I hope that limb will hold two Art because I’d be happy perching there with you! This article is one of the few post-election glimmers I’ve read. Since Nov 6 my mood has alternated between morbid to morose with an occasional cameo of melancholy.

I’d like to think there are enough rational, intelligent folks post-Obamanation II to see the parallel between Watergate and Libya, but if there were we wouldn’t be saddled with Benghazi Barry another four years, would we? That’s why your article gave me hope.

Are there enough thinking Americans to see Benghazi for the tragedy that it is, or is the reality of four dead Americans and the taunt to our national sovereignty just collateral damage wrought by leading from behind?

    • artlouis

This seems as good a wedge as any to get him out of an office where he doesn’t belong. The GOP must play it for all it’s worth.

      • Johnny Deadline

Coupled with Fast & Furious my scorecard shows him culpable in at least six American deaths (and untold Mexican ones), but what the heck – ObamaScare is the law of the land and the rich will likely pay more in taxes. Here’s hoping the GOP has the right stuff to right this presidential wrong and your article proves right and the left proves wrong.

        • artlouis

          Amen.

  • Wheels55

As Nixon said “I am not a crook”, will Obama say “I actually am not incompetent”?
I doubt it, and I doubt that the Senate, media and illegal aliens will let him get impeached. I think it is more likely that he resigns if his golf instructor tells him he needs to work on his game full time and the View wants to book him every day.
He will then write a book called “How I would have been President if I actually tried”.

    • artlouis

      I’ll take that scenario.

    • http://www.facebook.com/phil.silverman.9 Phil Silverman

If Bush II was not impeached over the manufactured Iraq WAr; if Reagan was not impeached over the “Beirut 241″ or Iran Contra, then what would you dream up for Obama? Not raising taxes on 95% of us? Implementing the Bush II TARP?

`Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe:
    All mimsy were the borogoves,
    And the mome raths outgrabe
    “Beware the Jabberwock, my son!
The jaws that bite, the claws that catch!
Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun
    The frumious Bandersnatch!”

    • artlouis

That’s very clever. Did you build that yourself?

  • http://disciplesnet.org/ Russ Smith

I think it may be wishful thinking to think that Obama will be forced out of office. In order for that to happen, it will have to be politically expedient for the majority in the House to impeach him (probable) and for the majority in the Senate to look as though they would support it (not as likely). Looking at how the press went to bat for Clinton and turned an investigation of misuse of power into a soap opera; looking at how the Republicans fell for it, I’m not so sure it could be done.
That’s not to say it shouldn’t be done, rather the opposite, sadly. As so many have said, if a Republican had even failed to act, let alone called off help, in a similar situation, the press would be tireless in calling for his or her resignation.
We can hope, but I suspect that the worst of it will be to make Obama unable to accomplish anything. Not a bad result, but far less than what is reasonable.

    • artlouis

I am hoping that he will finally get discouraged and save Congress the trouble.

    • AllenJ

If the House impeaches Obama for Benghazi, perhaps they should have impeached Bush for 9/11 when intelligence warnings were dismissed or for his false assertion of weapons of mass destruction in Iraq when none were subsequently found. It’s time to move on and deal with real issues, such as the economy.

      • http://disciplesnet.org/ Russ Smith

Yes, they probably should have. It doesn’t seem to matter whether you have an R or a D after your name. Both sides seem intent on an imperial presidency. Congress’ job is to curtail that.

        • http://www.facebook.com/dusty.thompson.169 Dusty Thompson

Harry Reid…. LOL…. How much proof do you need America is effed up the butt with no vaseline?

        • http://www.facebook.com/phil.silverman.9 Phil Silverman

The Ol’ Gip’ with the “Beirut 241″ and Iran-Contra. ACTUAL impeachable stuff.

  • deny916

Unfortunately obummer is the new “Teflon Don”. NOTHING will stick to him–same with his slimey staff. They will do four more years and destroy the counrty. The lame stream media will cover his butt any way they can. I keep saying the only reason they went after Nixon was because he had an “R” begind his name. I guarantee you that id Nixon had been a dumbocrap they would have swept Watergate under the rug too.
I hope with all my heart that you are right Art…but I don’t think so.

    • artlouis

I am hoping that if Obama keeps getting tomatoes thrown at him, he will leave the stage. That would be the expected response of a normal human being. However, maybe I am giving O. too much credit.

    • http://www.facebook.com/phil.silverman.9 Phil Silverman

what was supposed to stick? newscorp fishing trips over Fast & Furious; Black panthers; being born in Kenya, not the USA; other people’s social security cards?. All those things went nowhere. I wonder why. Ask McKeefe’s and Breitbart’s lawyers.

  • John Daly

If Obama had an (R) after his name, there’d be a far better chance that the scandals would sink him. I just don’t see it happening.

I found the Susan Rice thing astounding. Basically, Obama threw her to the media as a sacrificial lamb to spew out lies for the administration. Then, when her career aspirations were jeopardized because of it, Obama blamed the Republicans for being critical of her?

    Simply amazing.

In the press conference, Obama acted like he was coming to the aid of a damsel in distress, when he’s the one who hid behind her in the first place.

    • artlouis

Yes, the great paradox was when he pointed out that Susan had nothing to do with Benghazi. Then why did he send her out to pose as the authority on Benghazi?

      • 49corvette

        Exactly—I don’t get it either—my2cents—thanx for reading

      • http://www.facebook.com/phil.silverman.9 Phil Silverman

It’s part of her job description, that’s why? She reported what WAS HAPPENING AT THAT TIME. Now we know the CIA was on the scene within 25 minutes.

    • http://www.facebook.com/dusty.thompson.169 Dusty Thompson

Not amazing in the least. Communists and fascists do it all the time…

  • cmacrider

Art: Although I agree with your analogy between Benghazi and Watergate, I have my doubts as to whether the media will sink their teeth into this scandal like they did Watergate. CNN is already starting the spin that Susan Rice’s deception is the same as Condi Rice’s assessment of WMD’s in Iraq even though any rational person can see there is no analogy between the two situations. Further, McCain seem to lack either the desire or the intellect to lay out the obvious distinctions between the two situations.

    • artlouis

If we have to rely strictly on McCain, then this won’t go far. But there are others who are riled up about this. Even Lindsey Graham showed some claws for a change.

      • http://www.facebook.com/dusty.thompson.169 Dusty Thompson

In his very next sentence Grahamnesty told Reid he wants “comprehensive immigration reform”, then smiled and went to collect more donations for his PAC.

  • Patrick

“I am going to go way out on a limb here, and predict that President

term, because of Benghazi-gate, just as one of his esteemed

I think that’s a large limb you’re going on out there, but it has the possibility of putting a huge mark on the President’s second term and cause him to lose a lot of support possibly even among some Democrats I have a feeling that this scandal is not going away anytime soon and is going to continue to haunt President Obama for at least the first part of his second term.

    • artlouis

I think it is serious enough to define his presidency, if not end it. A year from now his only active supporter will be Whoopi Goldberg. Joy Behar will go into hiding.

      • Wheels55

        I wish she would hide.

        • artlouis

What is big enough to hide her?

      • http://www.facebook.com/phil.silverman.9 Phil Silverman

what specific evidence do you have?

    • sendtheclunkerbacktochicago

The man should have been prosecuted the day after he released that April 27th, 2011 forged birth certificate and again months later when Sheriff Joe Arpaio and his investigators discovered that he fraudulently registered with the Selective Service and later when private investigator Susan Daniels investigated Obama E-Verified flagged fraudulent SS#. Three crimes for crying out loud. Now that is much worse than Watergate and more compromising than anything they have on General David Petraeus. Obama is Commander in Chief for crying out loud. See all the evidence below.
