Unlike merely stupid leftist schemes, this one is likely to happen. The CIA has determined that some of the "immigrants" are violent revolutionaries who will revolt when they have enough people and weapons. The US government could try to put down the rebellion, or give back those states. But there is a 3rd possibility, that non-revolutionary residents, including Mexicans who came to the US because they don't want to be in Mexico, will launch a counter-revolution. The outcome is uncertain, but it is disgraceful that public school teachers are leading their students down a path that will either leave them returned to a 3rd world country, or dead.

iwas in mt. pelier the day tha dick snelling died and howard dean stepped in. they were both good governors in my mind. that day the were people saying. "no howard... what can we do for you." (elanor roosevelt to harry truman.) it was great to have a doctor as chief, but then he went a little wild culminating in the famous hockey scream. i really like jim douglas, he is on my short list as a running mate with sarah palin, along with paul ryan and a few others. fiscal responsibility starts at the top.

Now I'm not a stickler for staying on topic, and I realize that most threads stray from same and maybe I'm missing something here, but does anything in the quoted post have anything in common with the subject of this thread or anything posted thereafter? Just askin'.

Yeah I was afraid of that. Well I sincerely hope you are successful and can afford it. I attended Catholic elementary and high school and I'll put that education up against ANYONE. When I was in grade school even the average students were reading at least three grades above our own level while the public school kids were lucky to read at their own, and it's much worse now. If you can manage Catholic school your daughter will certainly thank you for it by the time she enters the job market, believe you me. Even when I speak to some (too many) people my own age I cannot believe how ignorant they are.

Still, the communities in S.D. County we have set our sights on have solid public schools among other desirable factors. I can't speak to their teachers' agendas if any, but thankfully it's not exactly an idiot mill around here like D.C.

I encountered some liberal bent between junior high and high school, but it was mostly in books and not teachers' attempts at indoctrination. In fact, by and large few conservatives would object to the assemblies we attended in my high school gym. Immediately coming to mind are a musical performance by a Marine Corpse ( ) cover band from Pendleton, a Christian body-building organization, and a rather interesting basketball scrimmage featuring Elliott Gould, Charlie Sheen, and a pre-championships Michael Jordan. And then the next day......kidding.

Pardon the tangent.

I don't think Hollywood Liberals get that true revolutionaries will kill or imprison the rich to give their homes and money to the poor. Cambodian Communists murdered all rich people, including all doctors, resulting in no doctors and very little skilled labor. It is shortsighted to think that La Raza activists will help the US become a one party (Democratic) country, and ignore that all rich Americans, including rich Democrats, are on the hit list. They warn of the return of the Know-Nothings, who murdered Catholic immigrants in the mid-1800s. Some "Liberals" will probably joyously join the communist work camps, but I'm guessing that most will suddenly become the new Know-Nothings when their own life is at stake.
