I just wanna say thank you to Armando Galarraga, Jim Joyce and, to a certain extent, Jim Leyland and the Detroit Tigers organization for handling an unfortunate situation with grace, dignity and class. Just think of how it could have gone the other route. I stopped following sports years ago due to the steroids, the whining, the over-inflated egos and salaries, lack of hustle on the field (baseball mostly), the garish chest-thumping, trash talking and showboating and, in general, the overwhelming lack of sportsmanship and grace on and off the field displayed by the 'modern' athlete. How refreshing it was to witness this incident with the way in which it was handled by all involved. Armando Galarraga, you have restored my faith in sportsmanship, you are a true gentleman and my new sports hero. Jim Joyce, thank you for having the BALLS to own up to a mistake, not make excuses and handle it with class. Take a bow gentlemen, you've set a great example and done the sport proud.
