just want to comment on bernie saying that everyone is tired of interuptions by the interviewer!!! I am!!! agree more closely with fox news, but will change the channel when anyone on there will not shut up and let the person answer. i am smart enough to know if they are evading the question. Bernie for President!!

The left has been using racism against whites for decades and it’s so bad that Obama’s minions have started to successfully brand Sarah Palin as “trailer trash” when the term could not possibly apply. In response to this and in defense of Palin, ObamaFake makes a cultural – but not racial – graphic analysis, using plenty of photographs, to determine whether Barack and Michelle Obama are “trailer trash” using the standard by which their own liberal elite supporters classify whites with whom they disagree politically with the same demeaning epithet.
I love you Bernie. I am an intense conservative but thanks for standing up for Rangel in the Ingraham interview. What a joke. She never let him have two words in a row. After that disgraceful interview I vowed to never watch the Factor again when Laura was the host. She is way out of line and does it all the time, not just with Rangel.

Re: Labor Day 2011
I am all with Mr. Goldberg and his opinion and or explanation about the question and answer process during an interview.
If the host asks a question he should not cut into the answer of the guest. Unless of course the answer goes on forever and ever and misses the point completely going off into a direction of a different subject matter and or a point the guest wants to make about his own agenda.
If however the answer is of an opinion other then what the host represents or wants to hear, the guest should still be allowed to answer. If for no other reason that he was asked a question. That is called in my humble opinion: fair and balanced (Mr. O’Reilly).
Mr. Goldberg was 100% right. Mr. O’Reilly was wrong. And I am probably now considered a pinhead!
Too many hosts like to play the question/answer game, however it is themselves they want to hear talking, thus cutting into the answers with interruptions.
p.s. by “he” I mean he or she (I am female) and we should never have gone politically correct on that issue.
Mr. O’Reilly I watch your show almost every night, because I like it. Mr. Goldberg you are cool (and I am 67 years young).

Bernie is maybe the only honest voice on TV. He’s just not afraid of anybody. He never rolls over for the right or left no matter who the host is. I’m surprised O’Reilly tolerates his honesty.

Beneath her feistiness, Laura Ingraham always seems scared to me; scared that her detractors’ arguments may win the audience over, and so she reacts by jumping in and attempting to drown out any and all points of view she disagrees with.
Compared to Ms. Ingraham, Bill O’Reilly is a master listener.

Good for you, Mr. Goldberg, for criticizing O’Reilly’s habit of interrupting his guests. I find it extremely annoying and very rude. Whether I agree with the guest or not, I want to hear their answer. We already know what O’Reilly thinks. I believe the majority of his audience is intelligent enough to make up their minds whether the guest is being truthful or evasive. There may extreme instances where it’s necessary to interrupt someone, but O’Reilly does it regularly. It’s not just him – other hosts, such as Sean Hannity, do it too. It’s the main reason I don’t watch many of these shows. The host interrrupts, the guest tries to continue talking, they’re both talking at once, and you can’t tell what either of them is saying. What’s the point?

Thank god someone had the guts to critize Laura, because I think Bill is too afraid of her to do so himself. He said she is “feisty”, well I think there is a huge difference between “feisty” and “bitchy”. I accidentally saw the sideshow between she and Charlie the other night, I usually don’t watch Bills show when she is the hostess for the exact reason you you mentioned. P.S. Larry King was right….some TV hosts have props as guests so they can spout their views (right or left) and not get any lip from anyone. Thanks for speaking up for some of the other fair and balanced viewers.

I stopped watching O’Reilly over a year ago because of his interruptions. I may not agree with his guests – but I want to hear their opinion – and I want to hear them look foolish. O’Reilly doesn’t even allow the guest to bury themselves.
But Mr. Goldberg? After you pointed this out to O’Reilly, he interrupts you, and then you both go on interrupting and talking over each other!!
I saw this clip online. And why I ditched having TV in my home over a year ago.
Everyone on all the same shows want their face time and voice heard – even if it means they all talk over one another. Which you all do.
Your clip with O’Reilly could actually be looked at as a parody. Or a Jon Stewart segment.
Do you Mr. Goldberg even see this?

Good on you Bernie, I am no fan of Rangel but some hosts like Laura don’t even let their guests speak. Throwing 3 to 5 questions at their guest at a time (And dozens over the course of an interview), talking for the majority of the interview then criticizing their guest for not answering “one simple question.” You want guests to answer one simple question, maybe try asking one question instead of half a dozen at once that (And Rangel got this much right at least) are often mini speeches.
I’ve seen hosts on Fox and MSNBC do this, and I just flip the channel when they come on.
Paul Courtney
I think Rangel said it intentionally, to throw her off stride. I like Ingraham and O’Reilly, but they lack the ability to properly interview the hostile guest. It’s a rare gift, to ask questions like handing out rope, getting the person to tie their own noose, but it can be done. Of course, if she could do that, Charlie would not appear on the show. That approach would probably lower viewership, seems many prefer the shouting match.
Denis O’Grover
Bernie, I agree, the pretty girl comment to Laura is generational. I’m 60 y/o male and I understand exactly what Rangel meant. Laura knows too, but just reacted at the time to take a shot at the liberal.
Clarence De Barrows
Bernie: I don’t know why a gentelman, such as yourself, continues to associate with O’Reilly. His arrogance is only exceeded by Obama’s. He’s pretty tough to take for thinking “folks”.
robert graham
I sent O’reilly email regarding Igraham and how she reflects so poorly on his guest host decisions. She practically always gives speeches in the form of a “question” to a guest and then refuses to permit an answer as she continues her diatribe unless the answer is “Yes Laura, you are exactly right”. She should be flattered that someone actually called her pretty, she’s not that pretty (McCallum is pretty). O’reilly said Ingraham may have been offended that Rangel said “just” a pretty girl, I believe that what he meant was that she has no journalism or interviewing skills, and on that count he is one hundred percent correct. It was nice to see how adamant and straightforward you were with O’reilly in light of all he has done for you. Hopefully he won’t be offended and banish you. All the best to you.
John Wilson
O’Reilly mockingly fancies himself as ‘plain and simple’. He’s nothing but, being arrogant, condescending, and an obnoxious bore. It’s time you and others around him call him out.
I’ve essentially stopped watching the show, despite interesting guests. Tell him to ‘wise up’, he’s not cutting it with ‘the folks’.
John Sullivan
While Ingraham perhaps satisfies the true and dedicated conservatives in the audience, I doubt she is favored by anyone else. Whenever she guest hosts I make a point not to watch, as her particular style of talking over people is unpleasant and almost always I learn nothing in that interview. It’s as if she won’t allow people to deviate from her imagined script. It seems ludicrous for anyone who has a different viewpoint than hers to even be invited. What’s the point?

Shame on you, Bernie! Did you actually watch that segment? Rangel, over and over again, was refusing to answer a simple question, that’s why Laura kept interrupting. Good for her! I wanted to hear his answer (which of course he never answered). All he could think of was calling her “just” another pretty girl.
Andrew Jordan
You are so dead on with the Ingram comment. It irritates me to death when these people talk over other people on the show. Most of the time people like Rangle bury themselves without any help. If you initiate the interview with a statement saying no talking point answers. It would be great.
That one comment made me add this web site to my favorites list.

Bernie, you were exactly right on O’Reilly last night about Bill and Laura interrupting their guests. Bill did it just before your segment wtih Wayne Rogers and Ben Stein…..he invites them on, and when they don’t agree with his premise, he won’t let them speak. And, Laura is even worse….even when the guest agrees, she still won’t let them talk. Whey even bother having a guest on the show? I automatically turn the channel when Laura is the guest host.
Tom63010
Personally I am sick of interviewers fawning over the person being interviewed. So today when an interviewer insists that the interviewee answers a straightforward question with a straightforward answer you think that is rude? I thought you had an issue with soft journalism? I hardly think Laura was being rude. I think he was holding Charlie’s feet to the fire and making him answer a tough question that frankly he knows the answer to but knows, politically, if he answers truthfully would destroy him. That is what, after all these years of voting for Democrats what have the poor, more specifically poor blacks, have to show for it?
Mike K.
Bernie,
Good for your for telling O’Reilly that his interviewing style is annoying. Not sure if he’ll invite you back as he likes people that go along with his bullying style of intervieing. Did not check stats on how much he speaks and how much his guests, but I bet he speaks a lot more than the guests. He is RIDICULOUS and you told him so. Great job Bernie, you stood your ground with the bully.
Teresa Leigh
Bernie,
You have showed yourself to be an elitist, out of touch ASS! It’s refershing to FINALLY see an interviewer NOT let these corrupt politicians get away with side stepping issues as they will always do. Laura did a fabulous job and you are wrong to critize her, and to say she’s “lucky that’s all he called her”. Give me a break, you are just part of the problem! When have you ever called O’Reilly out for interrupting a guest? They should be interrupted when they are avoiding and/or lying. Maybe you should retire.
peter
Bernie unlike HBO real sports or CBS, programs like this don’t have luxury of post production. You of all people should know guests will go on and simply filibuster on their agenda – not allowing cross exam of their opinion. With re: Laura you are totally wrong. I am disappointed and I have been your biggest fan and have agreed with the majority of your opinions. Guess we all make mistakes.
R Jones
Re: Hosts…interupting guests…Right on Bernie, especially since O’Reilly does it all the time (as you so artfully pointed out to him).
