Romney Deserves a Break, Obama Doesn’t!

It’s not often I get to feel sorry for a multi-millionaire, but my heart goes out to Mitt Romney. Thanks to Team Obama working in cahoots with a corrupt media, he gets slammed no matter what he does. If he generalizes about his plans as president, he gets hit for being vague. But when he comes out with a five-point program, he gets no credit.

When he was asked in London, as someone who had once run an Olympics Game, what he thought about the security set-up for the 2012 event, he gave an honest answer and what turned out to be a factual appraisal. So, naturally, the media accused him of making a major gaffe, instead of praising him for not being a typical sweet-talking phony.

When he went to Israel and said that the difference between the success enjoyed by the Jews and the failure of the Palestinians was the difference between the two cultures, he was accused of insensitivity. But once again his only sin was in telling the truth.

More recently, a video of Romney speaking at a fund raiser went viral. In his remarks, he said that 47% of Americans are dependent on the federal government and, as a result, probably will not vote for him. Now he may have been off by a bit, and he may have inadvertently included retired people on Social Security who are not paying federal income taxes, but his message in the main was absolutely correct. People who believe that the government owes them something for no other reason than that they’re breathing do make up the base of Obama’s support.

That base, which includes inner-city blacks, illegal aliens, public sector union members and college students — particularly those wasting their time and their parents’ money pursuing degrees in the liberal arts — all feel themselves entitled to the largesse of the American taxpayer.

I had no doubt that the Democrats would try to make hay off his comments, particularly among the elderly who are living off Social Security. But theirs happen to be the exception to the rule because they paid into the system. All those other government checks, along with food stamps, are referred to as “means-tested.” In other words, people are expected to prove that they need these bribes in order to survive I think it is fairly obvious, even to liberals, that those are the folks Romney was referring to; in the same way, when people refer disparagingly to single mothers, they mean those who never bothered getting married, not widows and divorcees.

Finally, Romney did not, as Obama’s campaign manager insisted, write off Obama’s groupies; he merely identified them.

The difference between Obama and Romney or between Obama and any normal American is that he lies so shamelessly. For instance, at a recent campaign stop, he started a sentence by saying, “When I travel around the country and meet with Republicans…” I want to know exactly where these meetings took place. The only time you see him meeting with anyone is when he’s bloviating to a crowd of worshippers. Hell, this fraud doesn’t even speak to the Republicans in Congress, unless it’s to tell them to sit down, shut up and get out of his way.

Then there’s the matter of his right hand clown, Joe Biden, who keeps getting applause with his favorite line, pointing out that Osama is dead and GM is alive. The problem is that things have only gotten worse in the Middle East and North Africa since the execution of Osama bin Laden, as emotionally satisfying as that may have been. As for GM, after costing the tax payers and the bond holders billions of dollars, the company is barely breathing. But so long as the UAW is happy, that’s all that matters to this administration.

Even Obama must be embarrassed by the obvious failure of his Middle East policy, which consisted of feeding the Muslims a load of bull hockey about their alleged contributions to America and the world. Judging by the firestorm of anti-Americanism that is streaking across the Muslim world, stretching from Egypt to Indonesia, one can easily see that soft words have no effect on them. Perhaps because even they realize how backward and vicious they really are, they assume that anyone who is praising them is only doing so out of cowardice and fear. And for once, they’d be right.

As with a mad dog, you can avoid it by staying indoors. Or you can shoot it on sight. But you are never going to turn it into a house pet with a lot of soft soap.

It’s just about impossible to determine Obama’s biggest blunder because there have been so many, both foreign and domestic. But certainly near the top of the list was his fawning speech in Cairo, in 2009, when he delivered a mea culpa on behalf of the United States while flinging orchids to the assembled Arabs and Muslims.

One should never show weakness to one’s enemies, but, then, we have no reason to think he regards them as his enemies. That, after all, is a rather short list that only seems to include the likes of England, Israel, Poland and the Czech Republic.

Back in the 1960s, Nikita Khrushchev decided that President Kennedy was just the spoiled son of a rich man, more interested in chasing starlets than in waging war, a man not only cursed with a weak back, but lacking a spine, and so he decided to move Russian missiles into Cuba. When Khrushchev woke up to the fact that Kennedy was quite prepared to have our Navy sink the Russian ships, he backed down.

Obama, on the other hand, was so convinced that he was The One, the one who would lower the oceans and heal the planet, that, like every other naive fool who is blinded by his own massive ego, he felt he merely had to wish for something to happen to make it happen.

And why wouldn’t he? Everything else in his life has gone according to plan without his having to work too hard to bring it about. First there was prep school, thanks to his grandparents; then there was college and law school, thanks to affirmative action; then there was Illinois politics, which, thanks to the likes of Bill Ayers, Rahm Emanuel, Valerie Jarrett and Jeremiah Wright, was as easy as donning a pair of bedroom slippers; and, finally, there was the grand prize, the presidency, thanks to the likes of George Soros, David Axelrod and Oprah Winfrey.

If we learned anything from Obama’s speech at Cairo, it’s to remind us that our presidents should never go abroad when they wish to make or announce policy. Before 2009, the last time someone made such a boneheaded blunder, it was FDR at Yalta, in 1945, when he handed Eastern Europe over to the not-so tender mercies of Joe Stalin, sentencing hundreds of millions of people to nearly half a century of Soviet savagery.

I fully understand why this administration would like to blame some silly video for the murders of Ambassador Stevens and his colleagues in Libya, and wish to suggest that the date of 9/11 was merely a coincidence. Anyone who has ever confronted the family pooch after he’s made a mess on the carpet knows there’s a brief moment when Fido glances around to see if perhaps there’s another dog in the house who can be blamed.

But looking back over the past four years, at White House messes big and small, one thing is for sure: Barack Obama can’t lay any of it at the feet of Bo.

Hey, letters and #s, I made 5 different comments on this set of pages all directed at each of your comments and not one inane response from you. Obviously not too quick are you? If you respond now after thinking about it for 2 days it would have NO relevance. Keep drinking the Oblalblahblah koolaid, and blindly accepting the deception and straight out lies. Please, I beg of you, stop wasting our space, time, and oxygen. Jump.

“The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.” …

    • James King

That’s a famous quote for which you did not give credit, but more importantly, from my perspective, you need to expand on it. For instance, is it a trilumphant evil for good men to do nothing to try and defeat Obama. Or did you mean Romney.

There is a lot of evil in the world that most people can’t even expand on personally, but if you mean this election the result will be no different than it has been since Teddy Roosevelt, and I mean each elected president in-between. All have violated the law they all swore to uphold–the Constitution, so what does it matter? Oh, you say, my guy will set things right from Obama, but he won’t, and the country will continue down the same path against all that Washington & Jefferson stood for.

I believe they would be really pissed if they came back to life and saw what the citizenry has allowed to happen.

  • James King

I know I’m getting in to this disc. late, but Romney needs to listen to a couple of people–Rush and Mike Reagan, if he wants to win. Americans put their presidents on a pedestal, even bad ones like BO, and a challenger needs to give credible evidence as to why voters should replace the current president with MR.

He needs not only to ask if we are better off than 4-years ago, but if we want to continue BO policies instead of—take your choice. But I think he won’t do those things and I think he will lose, maybe in a landslide of historic preportions, thus giving BO an endorsement to further collectivize America to become France or Greece. It won’t take much.

  • Soubellvoter

I remember we all had a sigh of relief when President Kennedy backed Khrushchev down and we could stop with the silly drills of hiding under our flimsy little school desks in Florida.  Just watching Obama playing footsie with the Iranians and Muslim Brotherhood, infuriates me. No wonder so few respect him; he has never earned it! Romney has already earned my respect as a leader because he is standing on the right side of history!!

  • George – CPA

The views held by the “New” Republican Party, full of Tea
Partiers, are almost indistinguishable from those held by the Libertarian
    Party.

So my comment about John Stossel being a Republican was
    technically not correct if you are talking about Republicans prior to 1990;
but, as far as I am concerned, there is now not much difference between the “New”
    Republicans, Tea Partiers, or Libertarians.
They are all morons who think we can govern ourselves without a huge
Federal government and complete Laissez-faire, which is pure nonsense.  Laissez-faire belongs in the history museum
along with the dinosaurs that roamed the earth millions of years ago; both are
dead and will never be resurrected.

    • Joel Wischkaemper

They are all morons who think we can govern ourselves without a huge
Federal government and complete Laissez-faire, which is pure nonsense.  Laissez-faire belongs in the history museum
      —————————-
The question is.. why can’t we do without a huge government in Washington?  Washington seldom knows what the people in any given community want and if the tax money stays at home, the folks in any given community can spend their tax money as they desire.   Or.. not spend the money.

There are areas all over this country who tell us they cannot live on the money they generate from the community they live in.  Move tax expenditures to the State/County level and they find ways to live within their means.  I hope a great deal that you do understand that if you do want more money at X level of a state, you can then figure out a way to do those things which earn money.  And you should if you want the project.

      • George – CPA

A huge Federal Government will always be, especially now with the US population approaching 350 million.  It will be double that in 100 years or less.  You are dreaming if you think the Federal government will shrink.

The financial mess we are in was caused by the greed on Wall Street and the Mega Banks, all of which are controlled by the Plutocracy, the top 1%.

Do the math!  Over 20 million jobs outsourced to third world toilets just so the Plutocracy can acquire more wealth than anyone could possibly need.  If all those jobs were back in America, you would see the biggest boom in American history.
Our founding fathers are turning over in their graves.  They knew how corrupt corporations were even back then; the money interests are destroying America and murdering the middle class.  And, Romney is full of shit when he says, “Corporations are People, my friend.”

Latest example, BOA – Bank of America who received over a billion  bail out is laying off 30,000 in America, and going on a hiring spree in third world toilets.  And, they are still paying those above the glass ceiling billions in salaries and bonuses.

As far as community governments, they are all big jokes with highly overpaid mayors and other managers that are paid ten time more than they are worth.

The greedy Plutocracy caused this financial mess, they will need to pay, pay and pay more in taxes.

        • Joel Wischkaemper

You have no sense of being able to control the Federal Government, or change it.  And it can be done, although it becomes harder as the idea that a corporation can be treated as a citizen expands.  But you also don’t believe you can change local government, and that is on you hard.  We can change local government, and we can change State Government, and with the State Governments.. particularly now.. we can change the Federal Government.  Something I think we need to do and very soon.  And with Congress standing with a very, very low popularity level, and the President acting like a tyrant on occasion, the potential to change this nation is high.  It may get done, which is sad because it .must. be done.

    • James King

George, I invite you, if you have courage, to read and subscribe to The Objective Standard, a place where dummies like you can finally get the education you missed in school. And the key word in the title is, Objective. Incidently, I have nothing to do with them except as a subscriber.

As to the Tea Party and Republicans being like libertarians, nothing could be further from the truth. Libertarians are more liberal on some issues than BO and more conservative on some issues than the most right-wing Republican you can name. Why? Simple. Neither political party believes in or practices any of the ideas put forth by our Founding Fathers. But then you don’t like them either, do you?

From your comments you are for big government, which means you are against liberty, which means that you are for many, many immoral concepts, all of which would fall flat on their face when put there by a libertarian, especially an Objectivist, and you probably don’t know what that is either. It is you who belongs with the dinosaurs. Your collectivist ideas will always be immoral.

  • George – CPA

    I am quoting a post by “Light_V_Dark – Mark Twain was a
Proud-Atheist, albeit, an INTELLIGENT AND TALENTED ONE. His entire life was
filled with LOSS, SADNESS, MISERY, DEPRIVATION, DEPRESSION and DEATH.”

For the record, I too am a Proud Atheist.  Religion is the biggest plague still
infecting the world after thousands of years of enlightenment.  Religion is brainwashing or cultural
imprinting at its highest level; scaring little kids to death with horror
stories of burning in Hell and the devil.
This practice is just downright evil.
Very sad! All religious followers are mindless little sheep that have been
brainwashed into believing pathetic religious dogma about supernatural mythical
    creatures.

Politicians on the other hand, play this religious nonsense
game well; of course, they all believe and are good Christians, as long as that
    gets a few more votes.

The religious right and the Plutocracy are destroying America.

Speaking of Evil, Friedrich Nietzsche stated it well in, “Beyond
Good & Evil.” Another of his great works is “Thus Spoke Zarathustra,” both
of which have not been read my many here.

You can learn even more about how pathetic religion is by
    reading the following books:

“The Encyclopedia of Biblical Errancy” by C. Dennis
    McKinsey;

“The GOD Delusion” by Richard Dawkins; and

“god is not Great – How Religion Poisons Everything” by
    Christopher Hitchens.

Of course everyone should have read Carl Sagan’s “The
Dragons of Eden: Speculations on the Evolution of Human Intelligence.”

Your generalizations about Mark Twain’s life are simplistic
    and juvenile.

Everyone’s life is filled with “LOSS, SADNESS, MISERY,
DEPRIVATION, DEPRESSION and DEATH”, sprinkled with brief moments of joy and
    happiness.

    The entire Christian religion
is based on sadness and misery while on earth with true happiness only gained
by ascension into Heaven to sit at the right hand of God, where the streets are
paved with gold after entering through the golden gates.  What do you actually do once you get there
with the billions of others who have died in the last 6-7 million years?  Seating must be a bitch.

By the way, is you cap key broken or are you just so
insecure that you must type in all CAPS?
O’ wait, I forgot, in internet talk, all caps means that you are
    shouting.  Again, how juvenile!

    • MarioP

      You stated:
“Religion is brainwashing or cultural imprinting at its highest level; scaring little kids to death with horror stories of burning in Hell and the devil.”

Ha! Scaring little kids to death? How about scaring both little kids and adults to death.

      You also stated:
“What do you actually do once you get there with the billions of others who have died in the last 6-7 million years?  Seating must be a bitch.”

The lack of seating room in heaven should be the least of their concerns. Christianity teaches that rapists and murderers can end up in heaven once they repent their sins. Can you image the horror you will experience in heaven when you sit down next to your tortured and murdered child’s killer? “Well, hello there. Nice to see you here.”

Candidates for President have shown 7-10 years of tax returns since the 1960′s….Aren’t you concerned that Romney, if he wins, would set an example for non-compliance with tax laws?  Romney would never be able to get away with this in a court of law…why do you think he will get away with it in the court of public opinion?
As to military service, the Republicans made a major issue of Clinton’s draft dodging in 1992….Isn’t is hypocritical for the Republicans to now say it doesn’t matter? I have not seen any evidence that Romney’s parents or grandparents ever served…

    • nickshaw

Aren’t YOU concerned about this, http://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2012/09/missing_piece_surfaces_in_the_obama_puzzle.html
Read it. Truly read it. Then get back to us, Helen.
If you think Zero is on YOUR side after reading it or even America’s side, you really need help!

      • asl3676

A lovely conspiracy theory? How would you propose proving it? What in someone’s college transcript would show you anything about this story?

        • nickshaw

That’s your take away from this article, Helen?
          Yes, you definitely need help.

    • Jeffreydan

Thanks for bringing up Clinton, asl. I asked you (albeit with an incorrect conjunction) about an hour ago what you’d do if this were 1992: vote for Clinton (actually did dodge the draft) or the elder Bush (full military service record). What about 1996, where Clinton was up against another veteran. You’re pro-Republican in these cases, right?

      • asl3676

As a draft dodger myself I could care less about whether a candidate went to Vietnam …However, I am not a sanctamonious, war loving, gun toting Republican….I don’t run all over the country saying how much “I Love America” while avoiding paying taxes or serving in the military….

        • dubs

you my friend are an idiotic douche, we have an all volunteer force now, go back to Canada

          • asl3676

But we had a draft when Romney fled to France to avoid going to Vietnam…Maybe he was brainwashed like his father? Maybe he’s just a dick?

          • nickshaw

Seeing as you are a self admitted draft dodger, Helen, wouldn’t that make you a dick too?
Tell me, what did you do in Canada while you were hiding out? Did you do any charity work or just get wasted a lot?

          • Brett

The only dick around here is looking back at you, every time you look in the mirror. Stop wasting our space, time and oxygen. JUMP.

Thanks….. and you’re like a turkey who is voting in favor of Thanksgiving….

          • Brett

And you always wanted to be a somebody….you should have been more specific, letters and #s. Stop wasting space, time and oxygen. JUMP.

        • Jeffreydan

On taxes, I’d give you a list of all the “do as I say, not as I do” dems, but I don’t want to miss the upcoming Chiefs/Chargers game, and everyone (yourself included) knows Governor Romney’s taxes really don’t matter to you.

Also thank you for admitting you don’t care whether or not Romney dodged the draft. I’ll be sure to remind you of this every time you try the same crap.

          • asl3676

Mitt Romney wants to be President not me…Romney’s taxes do matter because he sets an example I don’t…
BTW…will Romney blame Obama for the replacement refs or will he balme the union? LOL

          • Jeffreydan

No, Governor Romney’s taxes do not matter to you, so drop the straw argument.

Let’s take this argument to its logical conclusion: let’s have every candidate, BO and Biden included, share every single tax return he has dating back to his first job. As you’ve amply repeated here, if the tax return isn’t released, we don’t know the taxes were paid. That tradition you’ve cited, where all prior candidates shared far more than Romney has, means nothing in light of that.

In case you still disagree with the first sentence, I’ll put it this way: not only would you vote for a democrat who didn’t release his tax returns, you’d vote for one who didn’t pay taxes at all, so drop the straw argument.

          • asl3676

          • Jeffreydan

Don’t blame me, asl–it’s your argument. But if you’ve decided to end the phony demands for more of Governor Romney’s records, that’s fine.
BTW, thanks again, this time for not denying you’d vote for a democrat who either didn’t release his tax returns or didn’t pay taxes at all. Liberals often keep things so dishonest, but you’re better in that regard.

          • asl3676

I agree.. I’ve never voted for a presidential candidate who did not release at least 5 years of tax returns….

        • nickshaw

Did you avoid paying US taxes while you were in Canada, Helen?
          Inquiring minds want to know.
Will you go back (assuming you returned to America after the danger passed) when Mitt is elected?

          • MarioP

Hey, I don’t want to be rude, but thanks to Obamacare you can see a doctor and take care of your Tourette’s… you know, that Helen tic.

And what branch of the service did Oblahblahblah serve in? And his derelict dad and his mom? AND HIS GRANDPARENTS BACK IN KENYA OR INDONESIA? Hmmm. None of them did. A fine, well-written article, Bernie.  The general media, is without question, “in the bag” for Obama.  Apparently, most of them are historically uneducationed, because we all know what happens when despots take over, and that is exactly what BHO is.  After a despot has achieved his goal, the first thing put under the thumb is the press.  Since our press has been there so long already, they don’t seem to see any inherit dangers.

    • Alden514

WVF, Burt Prelutsky worte the article, not Bernie Goldberg.  It is a fine article, and definitely seems to be bringing out those who need a friend (as in: that’s more about your life than I really care to know) and those who need heavier meds!

Alden:  Thanks.  I didn’t notice that you had already set him straight.

With the regards to the current president of the United States – the same that was applied to Averell Harriman by Senator William Jenner (R Indiana) can be applied to BO - “he’s thin as piss on a hot rock”.

  • Sue Nolan

    Hi Burt,
Anyone who takes marching orders from his wife and his dog can’t be all wrong!  I personally agree with everything you wrote.  But then, I don’t live in the U.S. and don’t get my news from the blamestream media.  Obama is seen for what he is outside the States–an amateur in the White House who plays more golf than has meetings with his Jobs Counil or National Advisory Staff,   The average American doesn’t even KNOW what is really going on.  But they had the chance to see the Pres tell David Letterman he didn’t even KNOW what the national debt is!  He doesn’t know because he doesn’t care.  He replied that it would be dealt with much further down the road!  He chummed with celebrities while the Middle East was in flames, then lied to the American people for a week, when he knew 3 days before it could happen and did nothing.  Even the President of Lybia called it a terrorist attack before the State Dept. admitted it.  Only Mitt Romney and Benjamin Netanyahu had the courage to tell the truth that week.  Where I live the dollar is losing value daily.  The way I look at it, it is the last chance to save the U.S. economy.  Another 4 years of Obama will force the country over the cliff.  When that happens they can’t blame Romney or Ryan any more, because then it will be “money” that talks, not the blamestream media anymore.  And the biggest eye opener of all will be the truth behind Obamacare, which alone will add another 3 trillion to an already faltering economy.  But by then it will be too late.
    Ex-pat

    • Alden514

Hey Burt. I agree with your comments, and anyone should know by now that Romney is going to lose. I hope he wins, but he won’t, and because of what you pointed out in your piece I predict Republican candidates will eventually disappear into the ether. They won’t win elections anymore, maybe ever, because of an ill-informed electorate. I feel sorry for all who are young, because you have a lot of bad things you will have to endure simply because you chose entertainment over politics.

  • Marian Degner

..so, what’s a deal with the mormon woman who she was told by Romney, she need to give the child to the church?

    • SandeeM

That was a lie, like so many other lies told about the LDS  church.  I don’t know the situation personally, but as a Mormon myself I can tell you that that never happened.  It goes against teachings of our church.  So many lies are being told – then retold and so on until it’s thought that there must be some truth in them, when there is not.  It still shocks me that some people can tell such blatant, malicious lies, but the proof is unfortunately all around..

  • Marian Degner

No, you wrong! Romney don’t need break. President working his ass off for 4 years to get this Nation back on the track and His ready for 4 more years. Why you guy’s are  such a whiners  and complainers, take like a man? Like your girl will say to you all, Man UP puu.uus

  • George – CPA

Not that my race or ethnic background should matter, I am
tired of getting responses that imply that I am a Black or of Hispanic/Latino ethnic
background because of my “liberal” views; I am a 63 year-old white man with a
BS in Accounting and a CPA.

I once was a Republican, until I discovered the truth about
the monied interests in the USA and the World.
The monied interests – The ruling Plutocracy – are destroying the middle
class in America. President Lincoln knew this in 1861, as did many other great
Presidents whom knew that the “monied interest” would destroy this great
    republic.

I am sorry you folks have not figured that out yet!  Those Presidents knew how corrupt, dishonest
and self-serving corporations were over 150 years ago, which is too funny. What
is even funnier is that these corporations could not exist without the American
    Government or the US economy.

The Plutocracy owns 93% of all wealth and has controlling
power over all the corporations in the USA, the world.  The Plutocracy has one primary interest,
increasing profits to increase EPS and the market price of stocks.  They don’t care how that happens.  It is just fine to outsource over 20 million
jobs to third world countries where workers are paid 50 cents per hour with no
benefits, or to outsource job-functions to other corporations in America that
will hire temporaries for a few months paying almost nothing to take care of
what were once full time jobs with benefits.
It does not matter that that is destroying America’s middle class, so
what!  The Plutocracy does not care – too
damn bad – I have got the wealth, too bad you don’t.

All for the sole purpose of making the Plutocracy, the top
1% wealthier than anyone person needs to be wealthy.  They have more wealth than they could spend
in 500 hundred lifetimes; but that is OK because worshiping “greed” is the new
standard for capitalism – screw everyone that stands in our way; they are greed
idolaters whom seem to have forgotten what Jesus said:

“It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle,
than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God” (Matthew 19:24).

Capitalism is dead and needs to be replaced.  Wall Street and the mega banks need to be shut-down
and the wealthy taxed and taxed and taxed until they only have enough left to
cover just the basics – all the excess that the Plutocracy has belongs to
society – if they would have paid fair wages and shared in the profits, they
would not have been able to horde billions/trillions and screwed everyone else.  They would not have been able to make anything
without the other 99% of society.

We need to live collectively as a society and everyone needs
to take care of their neighbors, which in this case means that the Federal and
State governments need to help everyone.
Those that have more need to help those who do not – pure and simple –
there is no room for greed in America or the World.  Benjamin Franklin knew this is 1783.

Predatory capitalism is pure unadulterated crap!

As for the rest of you folks who call yourselves Christians,
that is you own big lie.  You are not
Christians and do not follow the teachings of your Church or understand what
Jesus was trying to teach us all.  You
are selfish and uncaring greed idolaters and most likely racist.  What is funniest, most of you are not even
members of the upper middle class and none of you are a member of the  Plutocracy, except maybe Benard.

Many of you probably worked for mega corporations when they
had great retirement plans and paid great benefits and  you retired comfortably with a continuation of
your medical benefits.  Now you get both
Social Security retirement benefits and your pension, and most likely are
living quite well.  Your kids will not
have the same chance. But, what you fail to realize is that the majority of
Americans that have jobs do not work for great corporations with great
benefits.  The only people in those corporations that do well  are those at the top and the majority stockholders; everyone else, too bad.

Many of you may work for mega corporations where your job
function has not been outsourced, at least not yet.  But, if it can be outsourced, it will be and
you will be out-of-luck.  They will give
you the pink slip and escort you out of the building with a security guard at
your side – you might go postal.  You might have worked there
for 30 years – too damn bad.  The
Plutocracy must be paid those dividends and those executives paid egregious salaries
and exorbitant bonuses – you are expendable.
Our kids will have few choices for great jobs thanks to the greed of the
    mega corporations and the Plutocracy.

Why you still believe in the Republican Party’s
    bull-hockey-puck is beyond me.

As for Romney and Ryan, total criminals who should be in
jail; but, many politicians from all parties are of the same ilk – the corruption
in Congress is unsurpassed, except maybe by the mega corporations. Many need to
be “tarred and feathered and run out of Washington on a rail.

The political system in America is broken and most likely
will never be fixed unless control can be taken from the Plutocracy.

You need to join the fight to bring down the Plutocracy,
then maybe your kids will have a future and decent jobs.

Personally, I respect your right to your opinion and how that makes you feel. But get real for a moment, Obama, Mr. Executive Privilege and Chicago politician, is as corrupt as they come.

      • George – CPA

If it can’t be changed, then we are doomed to being a two
class society, those who have and those who have not – so much for progress in
America – so much for the once great middle class.

But, there is one problem if that happens, the system will collapse
upon itself.  It will probably still collapse
thanks to the greed of President George Bush and his wealthy banker friends who
convinced enough in Congress to repeal Glass-Steagall in 1999.  “Ten years later, Dorgan has been vindicated.
His warning that banks would become “too big to fail” has proven
basically true in the wake of the current financial crisis. He seems eerily
prescient for claiming then that Congress would “look back ten years time
and say we should not have done this.” But he wasn’t entirely alone. Sens.
Barbara Boxer, Barbara Mikulski, Richard Shelby, Tom Harkin and Richard Bryan
        also cast nay votes.”

        http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/05/11/glass-steagall-act-the-se_n_201557.html

Despite this fact, the greedy Republicans want to repeal
even more regulations and let the greedy Plutocracy completely destroy America.  What is wrong with those morons?

We have yet to see the full effect of the collapse of the
        housing market.  Most mortgage companies
have yet to begin the “forced sale” part of the foreclosure process, where millions
of home owners will be kicked out of their homes and their homes auctioned off in
forced sales.  One big problem is that there
is no market to sell those millions of foreclosed homes, so the mortgage
companies are not going to the “forced sale” phase; but, they are trying to
work out modifications. One big problem with this is that millions had decent
jobs when they bought their homes, but thanks to the Plutocracy and job
outsourcing, they now have shit jobs where they are paid shit wages and they
can’t afford their mortgage payments, even on the modified mortgages.

Do you think that BOA – Bank of America is about to lay off over
30,000 because everything is going well?
And, those bastards at BOA, who we bailed out with Billions, are going
on a hiring spree in third world countries.
Once again, job outsourcing is screwing middle class Americans just so
the greedy Plutocracy can survive.   So what, right?

The Capitalistic system will eventually implode as there are
no new markets to open and because the middle class no longer has enough money
left over to spend on luxury items and can barely afford to pay for food and
shelter. As more and more Americans are forced to take service jobs and
outsourced job-function jobs that are part-time and pay one-third what they
used to make, they will have less disposal income to spend.  The effect of this is being seen now,
Americans cannot afford to buy much more than the basic necessities. The American
economy will most likely fall into a fatally deep recession.  Then the fun will begin.

As far as good books on the subject of the Wealthy and the Plutocracy:

“Wealth and Democracy” and “Politics of Rich and Poor” by Kevin Phillips.
“A People’s History of the United States – 1492 – Present” by Howard Zinn

“Confessions of an Economic Hit Man” by John Perkins

The Gilded Age: A Tale of Today is an 1873 novel by Mark
Twain and Charles Dudley Warner that satirizes greed and political corruption
in post-Civil War America.“The Communist Manifesto”
written by the political theorists Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels.Hope that helps – all the above books should be required reading in high school.

    • Ted Crawford

So you are an accountant then George? I have a problem that you might be able to help me with here. My family budget is all out of kilter and I don’t seem to be able to get it back in line!
I’ll try to lay it out as I have it in my planner:
Annual Income (from all sources) – $21,700.00
      Annual Expences – $38,200.00
      Credit Card Debt – $16,500.00
The Outstanding balances of my credit cards – $142,710.00
I’ve tried to find ways to cut my budget, but so far can only come up with $3.85 in cuts!
What would you recommend that I do here? By the way, that”s exactly what our national budget currently looks like if we were to add 8 zeros!
Now Mr. Accountant, tell us again how much we need Obama to be re-elected!
      You did graduate didn’t you?

  • cmacrider

Burt:  Your article provides a nice synopsis of Obama’s bumbling incompetence.  This opens the door to the obvious question …. why from the outset did the Romney team not define Obama as “too naive and incompetent to be the POTUS”.  In addition they could have defined Obama as “a narcissistic ideologue who isn’t in politics to serve the average American …. he is just in it for himself.”

If they had defined him as suggested, the failure of foreign policy in the middle east, etc. etc. would all have re-enforced this message.  Obama’s persona of “being cool” would suddenly become a liability as the general public began to twig into his astounding arrogance.

The end result would be that the MSM would be too busy attempting to extinguish the Republican narrative to be attacking Romney.

  • JBubs

Great writing as usual, Burt. I must disagree strongly however about Obama not having a spine and about making blunders in foreign policy. He is no fool and from what I see he is nothing if not steadfast in his resolve. Recall that he first considered his report card to be a “B plus” and more recently “Incomplete”. Since he is not crazy, we must conclude that he is mostly satisfied with what he has done and that he has more to do. What he has done so far? He has stifled economic growth domestically while encouraging economic growth through business loans (on borrowed money) to formerly imperialized third world countries. He has reduced our military capability while ignoring military growth in the Muslim and Asian worlds. He has weakened U.S. citizens by unconsitutionally expanding the strength and reach of the federal government. In a few years, with the huge tax burden we will be forced to pay, we will all be poorer, so the third world will be comparatively richer. The world’s playing field will be more “economically justified” with “everyone having a shot”. The U.S. will a member in the global game but having no money of our own and a smaller military we will no longer be calling the shots. Passing Obamacare was just one means to the larger end. After all, the “fundamental transformation of the United States” on Obama’s report card is still “Incomplete”.  God help us if he wins another term.

    • nickshaw

Pretty much agreed, JBubs however, the “not bumbling” part may be wrong. Yes, Zero is steadfast in support of former colonies and the muzzie world. He just thought they would tone it down if they knew they had a friend in Washington. He didn’t figure they would dial it up because, well, you know, ’cause he’s such a great communicator.
I guess he just didn’t message it properly or he should have been a better story teller. ;-)

Bert: I totally agree. Obama is a failure. He and his left friends made Bush’s policy of trying to convert Iraq into some form of a democracy during the conflict. It was a noble attempt by the Bush administration. After all it worked for the Germans and Japanese. Did it fail? I don’t know. It is too early to tell but I guess the odds are against. At least Bush tried. Obama on the other hand did nothing in terms of Lybia, Egypt and Seria. Here he has all the expertise in community organizing and didn’t have the sense to use it in preparation for a democratic takeover after the dictators were dumped. Maybe Obama wasn’t a community organizer. We know so very little about him.

    • MarioP

Hey wally, you’re making no sense. First you’re saying that Iraq is probably a failure, and then you want Obama to do something about Libya, Egypt, and Syria? You just told us that going into Iraq was a failure, so why do you want us to go into other Mideast revolting countries? Do you even think when you write?

Invasions worked on the Germans and Japanese, and therefore it should work all over the world. If you’ve not noticed yet, the Middle East is no Western Europe or the most advanced nation in Asia. You missed to notice that, and so did Bush. Although Bush Sr. knew not to go into Iraq. Stubborn son thought he knew better, and stubborn voters reelected him. Thank you for destroying our nation, you unpatriotic half of our nation.

Great article.  If JFK ran today he would be considered a right wing Tea Party candidate.  JFK proposed 19% capital gains tax rate.  Where would that put him.  Obama enjoys a lot of what  he does because a lot of his base is young and has not lived history and the only history they know is what revisionist version that the leftist communist college professors feed them.   Anyone 18 years of age is a child and is too young to have a say in this government and how we destroy it.   Too bad the public doesn’t understand the qualifications for fighting are totaly different from what is needed to make an informed vote.  The two should have never been tied.  Mitt is old school and that may make it too easy for a press hell bent on his destruction.

    • MarioP

The only way for our nation to advance is to have the old school mentality die with those who support it. Trying to live in the past is no way to deal with new issues. It will be such a better nation when the greedy baby boomers, who so severally tax our social security and medicare systems, finally die out.

      • brendan horn

Maryo, you are evil that you want the baby boomers to die for your benefit. That is selfish and evil. Whiners and complainers like you are the real problem in this country. The country would revert to the stone age if there were too many people like you. Your ideas would destroy this country, and sadly, I think this is what you really want.

        • MarioP

The baby boomers should die out for my benefit? No brendan, the entire nation’s benefit. The baby boomers are costing the system way more than they put into it. Partially, it’s not their fault, since one can’t control when he’s born, but when you’re informed your greedy generation will bankrupt the system, how about you vote in some extra taxes so the future generations who are currently paying into the system will get to use it as well. And you’re calling me selfish?  Your generation paid too little into the system, and the future generations will not get to use it even after paying into it. And I’m selfish?!?! Wake up and realize what you’re writing.

You think I want to destroy this country? You are a complete mental case if you think any American wants to destroy the US of A. Only a nut who thinks there are some Americans among us who want to destroy this nation, would even think of such lunacy. I despise Limbaugh and Beck for being complete idiots and fire up the challenged half of the country for the wrong causes, but even I don’t think those selfish pigs want to destroy this nation.

  • venter

Great .  You wrote what we feel .  Two against one isn’t fair.  Obama has the MSN .  He can use the media  at will  The MSM does the rest of the campaigning for him..  I check in once in  awhile just to see what they have to say (they are blocked on my TV) and I am so disappointed with what has happened with the new media.  This week should be a wake up call for all Americans with the White House and the MSM reporting that the VIDEO  was the blame for the killings and riots in Eygpt.  You could almost say they  incited what followed.   I am part of the 47% and  many of the people I know are part of it .  We know what Romney was saying when he was spied on by Jimmy Carters grandson.   Those of us who are unemployed  understand what was said. We know what the last 4 years have done to us .All the  apologies , lies  and spinning from Washington this week is shameful.  Our economy is weak, our security is weak, our leaders are weak.  our MSM IS WEAK and now we look weak to the rest of the world. Keep spinning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Romney gets blasted for telling truths that liberals don’t want to hear. Of course, the majority of those people who are dependent on  big government are going to vote for the big spending liberal, Obama. However, what happens when Obama runs out of other people’s money?

  • Drew Page

Burt  –  This, by far, the best article about Obama and his administration that you have written.   I agree with it completely.  At first I thought it was written by Bernie Goldberg and I thought wow, Bernie has taken the gloves off this time.    The polls back up Romney’s assertions that 47% or more of voters will support Obama.   Many among those 47% , for one reason or another, pay no federal income taxes.  Some among that 47% are dependent on government help for reasons beyond their control, others are freeloaders who think the government owes them a living.   Some are unionized workers, some are liberal idealists.  The thing that unites these people behind Obama is his promise to keep  the gravey train rolling, regardless of what it costs others.

    • MarioP

      Drew,

You’re making no sense. That 47% is EITHER the loyal Obama supporters, or the dependents on the government. It can’t be both. So which is it?

      • nickshaw

Drew made sense to me, Helen.

        • MarioP

I highly doubt it. You have absolutely no idea what that 47% portion is, because you never actually though about it. You’re just as mentally challenged as every other doofus who voted for the incompetence that causes all the recessions and disasters. Our right to vote should actually be a privilege for only those who can prove their intelligence. You have yet to prove yours.

          • nickshaw

             “Don’t stop believin’….”
You should keep repeating that song on a continuous loop, Helen.
Well, at least ’til next January.
(I’m allowin’ that Zero just might create a crisis to negate the vote. But that’s just ol’ paranoid me.)

          • MarioP

Ok bud, you can’t even hold a serious, factual debate.

And the polls are on my side, so you just keep dreaming of a happy January.

      • nickshaw

After I came across this, Helen, I am led to the conclusion that you and the rest of the 47% are simply dumb animals being led to slaughter. http://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2012/09/missing_piece_surfaces_in_the_obama_puzzle.html

        • MarioP

Look at you clown. You’re just as confused about the 47% as Mitt is. You two have no idea what do to with stats. In your limited minds, all those numbers just mingle and spin around, mixing data and out comes complete nonsense. Stick to the basics and you’ll do just fine, maybe.

I to feel sorry for Romney, he can’t seem to win for losing.  He is not only campaigning against Obama but also a very biased MSM.  I know many people are pinning their hopes that Romney will just “knock it out of the park” at the debates this week.   I don’t see it happening.  Not because of any failure on Romney’s part but because all the Moderators are liberal journalist.  Do you really think they will raise debate issues that will let Romney shine?  Not on your life.  All shiny questions will be asked of Obama with a 30 sec response from Romney.  I’m betting the questions are going to be so slanted toward Obama it makes us all puke.  I wish Romney could have negotiated at least one debate moderated by joint dem/rep think tanks and not all 3 by journalist.

Picture yourself at the 1992 polls, and you could pick either George H. W. Bush (served with distinction) and Bill Clinton (actually did dodge the draft). Which candidate do you prefer? How about Clinton’s 1996 opponent, who also served?

And since they haven’t released all of their tax returns dating back to their first jobs, do you realize you are not sure BO & Biden paid all their taxes either?

I don’t like Howard Stern. But, he did THIS GOOD THING, 4 years ago, to some Democrats du Colour, in NYC. Asking the Slaves questions, attributing McCain’s positions to 0-Mamma. Same thing this time out, with Romney’s platform and VEEP CHOICE, for 0′s.

    Burt,

The media coverage of Romney’s comments about the Olympic are a perfect example of how shameless, pathetic, and stupid are the liberal mainstream media. It is like they completely forgot about how Obama had insulted Britain’s greatest leader from the past century: Winston Churchill. Insulting Churchill is obviously far worse than expressing concern about security at the Olympics. Who would not be concerned about security in this modern world?
The latest snide comments from Obama are that Romney could afford to pay a little more in taxes. This may be true, but America cannot afford four more years of Obama wasting taxpayer money.

Obama’s team has come up with a new flag for America. Perhaps they will like to change the name of the country also: perhaps they would like Obamerica.

  • George – CPA

The polls are right on the money.

Romney’s totally uneducated moronic comment about the 47%
paying no Federal Income Taxes will destroy him and his cohort Ryan; who is
also a born into wealth, silver-spoon-in-mouth punk like Romney.

Romney forgot to mention that many of those 47% had LEGAL tax
credits and deductions that resulted in them not paying any Federal income
    taxes.

So, it is OK for that elitist white racist Romney to reduce
his taxes with tax credits and deductions; but, it not OK for the middle class
and poor to reduce their tax liability with legal tax credits and deductions?  Didn’t your boy Romney just say that you
would not want a President who paid too much in taxes because he did not use
all the tax breaks in the tax code?

Let’s see if I got this right.  It is OK for the wealthy to use all the tax
breaks, but it not OK for the poor and middle class to use them!

Now, Romney’s ridiculous claim that 47% pay no Federal
income taxes is almost correct; it is 46.4% – Apparently, Romney does not know
how to round correctly. But, Romney forgot to tell the whole story, which is,
why they paid no Federal income taxes.

The truth is that if you eliminate those with the “Legal”
tax credits and deductions, then the actual percent of those who paid no
Federal Income taxes or Federal Payroll taxes is 18.1%.  I wonder why that two-faced liar Romney did
    not mention that.

“Essentially, yes, according to the Tax Policy Center, which
provides data showing that in 2011, 46.4 percent of American households paid no
federal income tax. The same data shows, however, that nearly two-thirds of
households that paid no income tax did pay payroll taxes. And most people also
pay some combination of state, local, sales, gas and property taxes. Overall,
according to the Tax Policy Center, “of the 38 million tax units made
nontaxable by the addition of tax expenditures, 44 percent are moved off the
tax rolls by elderly tax benefits and another 30 percent by credits for
children and the working poor.” Moreover, only 18.1 percent of American
households paid neither federal income taxes nor payroll taxes in 2011, says
the Tax Policy Center. Of that 18.1 percent, 10.3 percent were elderly and 6.9
percent were non-elderly households earning less than $20,000 year, which include
low-income families and students. About one in 20 is non-elderly with income
    over $20,000.”

    http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-503544_162-57515033-503544/fact-checking-romneys-47-percent-comment/

Also, Romney forgot to mention that the middle class and
poor pay more than 60% – 70% of all state sales, excise, and use taxes, and
Federal FICA taxes.  It is not the top 1%
that pays most of the state sales, excise, and use taxes, and Federal FICA
taxes; it is the 99%.  Romney also forgot
to mention that without the middle class and poor, there would be no US economy
and no market to sell goods.

There were 3.1 (3,100,000) millionaires in 2010. There were
236,451,723 individuals over the age of 18 in the USA according to the 2010 US
    Census.  The millionaires represent 1.31%
    (1,300,000 divided by 236,451,723 = .013 = 1.3%) of the total population of
individuals over the age of 18.  These
are the members of the Plutocracy that own most of all the wealth in the USA,
at least 93% of all the wealth.  So, of
course, it would only be fair that they should pay at least 93% of all Federal
income taxes. What don’t you folks, Romney and Ryan not understand?

And, if I hear that unadulterated bull crap from Romney
again about how entrepreneurs are solely responsible for innovation and the
growth in America and how they built their businesses themselves without any
help from the Federal Government, I will VOMIT.

Without the Federal Government there would be no US or
global economy, no infrastructure, no internet.
The railroads, ship canals, highways, bridges, airports, and many
private conventions centers, sports stadiums, funding for the 2002 Salt Lake City
Olympics, etc. would not have happened without the hundreds of
    billions/trillions from the Federal Government.
Many of the wealthy families e.g., Carnegie, Cooke, Mellon, Rockefeller,
Vanderbilt, etc., that continued to perpetuate their billions in wealth would not
have existed without huge amounts of Federal money and land grants.

All these small businesses that Romney claims made it
without any help is just a lie and more nonsense.  Take the commercial where Jack Gilchrist
claims he made it without any help.  Are
Romney and Gilchrist just two-faced liars or are just too stupid to understand
how it all works. Let’s examine the facts about Jack Gilchrist’s business and
    the related Romney commercial:

“The Romney commercial featured the owner of a business in
New Hampshire who indignantly told the President that his father and brother
and he had worked hard to build their business. (see here:
http://www.mittromney.com/videos ) Well, as it turns out, Jack Gilchrist, the
business owner didn’t exactly get to where he is now without help.  In 1999, the Gilchrist Company got $800,000
in tax exempt revenue bonds issued by the New Hampshire Business Finance
Authority, a state program financed by the federal government. The business also
gets Department of Defense contracts. Mr. Gilchrist received a U.S. Small
Business Administration loan of about $500,000 together with matching funds
from the federally funded New England Trade Adjustment Assistance Center. (see:
    http://www.unionleader.com/article/20120723/NEWS0602/707199954 ).”

Romney is just a two-faced liar – who I am betting, is
guilty of tax fraud, misuse of power as Governor of Massachusetts with contracts
to a subsidiary of Bain Capital, Imagitas, and giving contracts to his wealthy
Moron friends in Salt Lake City in 2002 with billions in Federal funds to
finance the Olympics.  Romney’s VP pick
is a criminal too; just hasn’t been caught yet.

Paul Ryan arranged, behind the scenes, for a large Wisconsin
State contract to Imagitas for his brother Tobin, who was a founder of Imagitas
    – Paul Ryan and his brother should be in jail for those crimes along with
    Romney.

I think Romney and Ryan need to read closely these words
from Republican President Abraham Lincoln, President Andrew Johnson, Mark
Twain, Albert Einstein and Benjamin Franklin:

President Abraham Lincoln, the Illinois Rail-Splitter, told
    his audiences that,

“Labor is prior to, and independent of, capital.  Capital is only the fruit of labor, and could
never have existed if labor had not first existed.  Labor is the superior of capital, and
    deserves much higher consideration.” 1861

    “In 1864 Lincoln cautioned a workingmen’s association
against the “effort to place capital on an equal footing with, if not above
labor, in the structure of the government” and he warned working people “to
beware of surrendering a political power which they already possess, and which
if surrendered, will surely close the door of advancement against such as
    they…”

“The money powers prey upon the nation in times of peace and
conspire against it in times of adversity. It is more despotic than a monarchy,
more insolent than autocracy, and more selfish than bureaucracy. It denounces
as public enemies, all who question its methods or throw light upon its crimes.
I have two great enemies, the Southern Army in front of me and the Bankers in
the rear. Of the two, the one at my rear is my greatest foe… corporations
have been enthroned and an era of corruption in high places will follow, and
the money powers of the country will endeavor to prolong its reign by working
upon the prejudices of the people until the wealth is aggregated in the hands
of a few, and the Republic is destroyed.”

President Andrew Johnson warned in 1869, “an aristocracy
based on near two billion and a half of national securities  has arisen in the Northern states to assume
that political control which the consolidation of great financial and political
interests formerly gave to the slave oligarchy.
The war of finance is the next war we have to fight.”  For years later Mark Twain coined his famous
    term, the Gilded Age.

“What is the chief end of man?–to get rich. In what
way?–dishonestly if we can; honestly if we must.”
    – Mark Twain-1871

The Gilded Age: A Tale of Today is an 1873 novel
by Mark Twain and Charles Dudley Warner that satirizes
greed and political corruption in post-Civil War America.

“I am convinced there is only one way to eliminate
these great evils, namely through the establishment of a socialist economy,
accompanied by an educational system which would be oriented towards social
goals. In such an economy, the means of production are owned by society itself
and are utilized in a planned fashion. A planned economy, which adjusts production
to the needs of the community, would distribute the work to be done among all
those able to work and would guarantee a livelihood to every man, woman and
child. The education of the individual, in addition to promoting his own innate
abilities, would attempt to develop in him a sense of responsibility for his
fellow men, in place of the glorification of power and success in our present
    society.

–Albert Einstein, in the Monthly Review’s first issue,
    1949.

Then, I really love this statement from Benjamin Franklin
    in 1783:

“All Property, indeed, except the Savage’s temporary Cabin,
his Bow, his Matchcoat, and other little Acquisitions, absolutely necessary for
his Subsistence, seems to me to be the Creature of public Convention. Hence the
Public has the Right of Regulating Descents (inheritance), and all other
Conveyances of Property, and even of limiting the Quantity and the Uses of it.
All the Property that is necessary to a Man, for the Conservation of the
Individual and the Propagation of the Species, is his natural Right, which none
can justly deprive him of: But all Property superfluous (being more than is sufficient or
    required; excessive; possessing or spending more than enough or necessary;
extravagant) to such purposes is the Property of the Publick, who, by
their Laws, have created it, and who may therefore by other Laws dispose of it,
whenever the Welfare of the Publick shall demand such Disposition. He that does
not like civil Society on these Terms, let him retire and live among Savages.
He can have no right to the benefits of Society, who will not pay his Club
    towards the Support of it.”

This is a follow-up to the comments made about two weeks ago
about how President Lincoln was one of the wealthiest Presidents, which is
incorrect. As far as I know, President Lincoln had an ENW – estimated net worth
of less than 1 million and had less wealth than the 15 Presidents before him.  So, the first 14 US Presidents were much
wealthier than Abraham Lincoln; and, James Buchanan – the 15th
President – and Abraham Lincoln had an ENW of less than 1 million.

    Washington’s ENW = $525 million; John Adams’s ENW = $19
    million; Thomas Jefferson’s ENW = $212 million; James Madison’s ENW = $101
    million; James Monroe’s ENW = $27 million; John Quincy Adams’s ENW = $21
    million; Andrew Jackson’s ENW = $119 Million

Martin Van Buren’s ENW = $26 million; William Henry
    Harrison’s ENW = $5 million

    John Tyler’s ENW = $51 million; James Knox Polk’s ENW = $10
    million; Zachary Taylor’s ENW = $6 million; Millard Fillmore’s ENW = $ 4
    million; Franklin Pierce’s ENW = $2 million

James Buchanan’s ENW = less than 1 million; Abraham
    Lincoln’s ENW = less than 1 million – he was 16th President

Anyway, in closing, I wonder what Bernard Goldberg,
Gingrich, O’Riley, Hannity, etc. are going to do after President Obama wins his
second term, and the House and Senate are controlled by Democrats.

Power to the working class and poor, the 99%; they will bring
    the Plutocracy to its knees.

How can one person hold so much Kool Aid, Helen?
I wonder what you will do when the House, Senate and Presidency are held by Republicans?
Will you commit suicide as it will be an America that you cannot possibly stomach? Death would be your only way to cope?
Much as most here would like to see such a scenario, we know that’s not what will happen, don’t we, Helen?
You’re going to riot and rampage, aren’t you? That’s what libs do when they don’t get their way. Oh, you’ll call it peaceful demonstration and do things intentionally to break the peace and get hit with billy clubs and such to present a different picture to the media.
We already know your playbook, Helen. It ain’t gonna’ work no more.

      • MarioP

Look at you. You can’t even face the truth, the facts, the reality. You have to divert by making fun so you can continue living a lie. Stop blaming the Left for the problems the Right caused. Uninformed voters like you, who can care less about the truth, are destroying the nation. Get in line to become a responsible voter or stop voting.

        • nickshaw

What “truth” and “facts” are you speaking of, pray tell, Helen?
Yours? And I suppose I’m not allowed to have any of my own? Unless I believe your truth and facts, I’m an idiot? Is that how it works?
Liberals possess the only point of view and anyone that disagrees is a mouth breather?
          Thanks but, I’ll pass.
And the only thing I blamed lefties for in my comment is rampage and riot.
OWS versus Tea Party. Are you implying the TP incited the lefties or something? What was it that made you so mad that you had to fix the problem that we caused? The lawn chairs? The cleaning up of the trash?
In the larger sense, exactly what problems am I blaming on lefties that were caused by the right?
          I’ll wait, Helen.

          • MarioP

I posted multiple posts addressing the lies written on this garbage site. Can you believe not a single tard from your side stepped up and addressed my facts? Why is that? Why can’t a single conservative loudmouth step up, completely embarrass me with their version of the truth and send me walking with my tail between my legs? Ha! Maybe because your twisted version of the truth goes so against the data? The Right always resorts to attacking the economic data, calling it twisted, but they can’t present what data they use to justify their conclusions. You guys, as always, are a comedy act, yapping your lame opinions, agreeing with each other like uninformed dunces. What idiots… grin…

Why am I upset about the Right? Put yourself in my shoes and see how you would feel when your opponent is a party that caused 70% of the national debt (prior to Obama), loses jobs nearly every term, slows down the economy if it doesn’t completely crashes it, and unnecessarily kills our soldiers. Would you be upset? Now switch back into your conservative shoes and list why you’re upset with the Left. Yeah, I thought so, it’s just peanuts. And maybe that hot hippie chick you dated back in the 70′s thought you were a bore and broke up with you. grin.

          • nickshaw

What does all this yammering have to do with what I wrote about, Helen?
Nice touch with the “(prior to Obama)” by the way.

“Elitist white racist” ?   I could respond by calling you a few names, but that would be playing your game.   What do you want to do?  Prosecute anyone white, who makes over $50,000 a year?   Look around you.  It isn’t Romney who has been president since January 2009.    Since that date unemployment has been continuously over 8% (really over 15%); no Congressional budget approved (blocked by a Democrat controlled Senate); refusals to build the Keystone pipeline, grant drilling rights for gas and oil on public lands, offshore or in ANWAR, allow nuclear or coal fired power plants, or to allow building of new refineries; increased the national debt by $6 trillion; and the Middle East in flames,  embassies burned, American diplomats killed and Obama’s apologies greeted with chants of “Death to America”.   Now you can piss and moan about Romney’s comments on taxes, but he paid his and gave a hell of a lot to charities.  No, it wasn’t Romney that brought America to its current state of affairs.

    • Shane

To a fanatical left winger like you, every white man who is not a Democrat is a racist and is your enemy. The fact is that there are just as many blacks and Hispanics who hate whites as there are whites who hate minorities.  Romney is correct that about 47% of Americans pay no income tax, and most of these people will vote for the big spending Obama. How can you live with such hatred for white people.

    • http://profile.yahoo.com/OPNB6IPETRLINDT2YVYONNTUEY BARBARA

I find your argument trite.  Mostly because Romney was NOT talking about not caring about 47% of people.  And Mr. CPA Romney never nor any conservative ever acted like these people were violating laws by not paying taxes.  He was telling his supporters at a fund raiser how a block of people will never vote for him because they will vote for their own pocketbook.  Perhaps he could have stated the facts more eloquently but they are nevertheless facts.  Guess the truth hurts.  Who spinned Romney’s comments about not getting a block of votes into he doesn’t care about half the country?… gee, could it be the MSM?

      • MarioP

        Barbara,

Maybe you’ll be the first one to explain to me who these 47% of voters are. Oh wait, you’re making that same blunder as every other conservative, because you believe that 47% are the ones who don’t pay taxes, like Republican retirees and some working age Republicans who get federal aid. Since all those vote Republican even if they don’t pay income taxes, they can’t be part of that 47% Mitt was talking about. So that 47% category remains elusive.

  • Jim Laurie

Great piece, Burt.  Thanks to Bernie for reposting and email alert.

The overall cost alone in the amount of  money the Obama’s have spent since taking office is staggering. He & she have done everything they can to spend our money while POTUS, as though they are King & Queen over the peasants!  That alone should cause any normal thinking mind to reconsider the re-election of these P.O.S.’s!  Hell, his campaigning alone in travel costs to support his staff and Airforce One, not to mention the vans and tying up traffic wherever they go. Only an idiothead would want to keep him & her.

  • Lawrence Brown

Someone on “Fox News Sunday” stated to the effect that Mitt Romney had a “bad couple of weeks.”  What about the Country and the feckless foreign policy run out of the “unoccupied” White House and Hillary’s world-traveling airplane?  Was that good for them?  Robert Gibb was the first guest on the program; other than seeing how much he can lie for his boss, why is this hack worth listening to?

    • nickshaw

It seems even Fox is getting too close to the Kool Aid stand, Lar.
As far as I’m concerned, Mitt has not had a couple of bad weeks at all. It’s only because the LSM says he did that anyone believes it!
Did he mis-speak about Libya? I think not. He was right on the money and the libs had to come around to the same conclusion after a couple of weeks of dithering and lies.
Did he mis-speak about the 47% of folks who do not pay federal income taxes and that a large segment of that population are not going to vote for anyone who will tighten the belt?
Again, what was wrong with that? It’s true.
I give you Greece as a perfect example of what people do when the freebees are taken away.
I just hope he sticks to his guns and follows through once elected. That transition usually has a marked effect on campaign promises. All we can do is elect more true conservatives to Congress to keep his feet to the fire!

  • POC247

Interesting comment Ghostwriter1795, “The only good Republican is one who doesn’t hold office.” Thats what a Socialist/Communist regime does….kill any dissenting voice…make sure none are left but those who goose step in perfect time to a singular philosophy. It paves the way for a totalitarian regime that suppresses freedom, enslaves and/or kills the opposition.

    • nickshaw

Exactly, POC. Once they prevent them from holding office the next step is to outlaw them.
      After that, anything goes.

  • Williamnoonan

I agree with every point. Romney might not be the best political candidate, but he’s a helluva good CEO, and this country needs a CEO. As far as foreign policy matters, even Jimmy Carter could do a better job than Obama, and when he gets caught in a pickle he lies like Clinton!

This is an example of an angry old man who has the attitude that ‘”I got mine so
screw everyone else”…. It’s actually sad to see this kind of bitterness and disillussionment.

    • Iklwa

      “Bitterness and disillusionment”???

If reporting history without the aid of multi-million gallons per minute of denial (every pun intended) qualifies as “bitterness and disillusionment”, interpreting Burt’s missive in this fashion certainly qualifies as pig-headed, self delusion over the President’s success in dealing with every issue to which he has put hand.

That first year, I was greatly heartened to hear of President Obama’s execution of the Somali pirates by SEAL snipers…only to find out the Commander on board the US naval ship disobeyed White House orders to not engage.

The next inkling of what was to come reared it’s ugly head in Mr. Obama’s comments on police activity after his friend broke into a house as being “stupid” with no direct knowledge of what had transpired (please note: there was never any White House apology issued to the police).

Policies, statements and attitudes emanating from the White House have spiraled downward ever since.

Truth, oft times is a bitter pill.

      • MarioP

        Burt,

You do address criticism, but only when you don’t have to make any sense. God forbid if you had to present a compelling argument. You obviously can’t muster that.

        • nickshaw

What a dick you are, Helen.
Burt has to argue that he is not an angry old man with an attitude?
Just the type of argumentative stance a lib always takes.
Change the subject and make stuff up.

          • MarioP

Boy, you truly are an idiot. You can’t even follow a simple string of posts. Reread the posts again and see if your brain can absorb them properly this time. If not, keep rereading. What a joke….

          • nickshaw

No, Helen, you were asking Burt to address the criticism posed by Asl, that Burt is an angry old man with an attitude.
Asl (whom I would call Helen also but, it would get confusing) didn’t contest the facts presented. She just offered that Burt got his so, screw everyone else.
She based this opinion on what, exactly?
Then you come along and expect him to present some sort of cogent argument to an inane statement.
That was the point of my comment. You have no argument (that makes any sense) in regard to the piece written so you make one up based on nothing but thin air.
I could use smaller words for you, Helen but, what difference would it make?

          • MarioP

            nickshaw,

I now see the daily challenges you must face. I feel for you, so here is the breakdown of the post chain.

            1) asl calls Burt “angry old man”.

            2) Burt replies to the criticism, because his comment back doesn’t require any logic or facts.

            3) I jump in, commenting that Burt only replies to criticism when he doesn’t have to present any facts. (I posted multiple post exposing the lies Burt has been writing, but he doesn’t have the ammunition, let alone the intelligence, to address my post. He could respond with a strong argument and embarrass me, but he obviously can’t.)

            4) You step in completely lost and can’t understand the conversation even after you reread it the second time.

You better just turn your monitor off. It’s for your own good.

          • nickshaw

Replying to yourself practically guarantees that I won’t see it, Helen.
If you can’t figure out the Dicksus thread limiter, well, what can I say?
In this case I happened to come back to find you are still virtually drooling on my screen expecting me to go and search out all of your comments regarding Burt’s writing.
I’ll take a pass on that, Helen.

          • MarioP

If you have no clue what the conversation is about, stay the hell out of it. You’re wasting everyone’s time, especially since you have nothing informative to state.

This is an example of the MSM spinning Romney’s comment into throwing 47% under the bus.  Romney was telling his supporters there is a block of people who I will never convince to vote for me.  That isn’t the same as saying I won’t represent them or care about them.

      • asl3676

  • Brhurdle

Given the state of affairs in the US, I remain astounded that President Obama does so well in the polls. I have concluded that it is an indication of the intelligence level of  US citizens. You would think that the “47%” would realize that it’s counter to their best interest to have incompetents in charge since they will bankrupt the treasury and ruin their freebie dole. The Obama Admnistration has become a drug dealer and his “47%” customers can’t resist the pied piper rhetoric of just one more fix.

    • http://www.facebook.com/jack.cox.5203 Jack Cox

Very well stated Brhurdle~~I’m sure part of the problem with the less informed who voted for this scum, may be the support by tax payers for the public educational system spectrum which is very much a  socialist doctrine from grade school on, in large part by Unionized teachers who have a liberal marxist lean! When people fail to think for themselves about right & wrong, lack of moral character, lack of reponsibility to action, etc. we get a weakoned public who can’t absorb truth and act accordingly toward what is best for our nation.

      • nickshaw

That and the weak of mind tend to gravitate to cults of personality, Jack.

    • MarioP

30% of that Romney 47% are retirees, many if not most, are Republicans. What is Romney’s plan to get them on their feet and make them less dependable on the government?

Obviously Romney is uninformed about the financial demographics of our nation, and he therefore doesn’t have a plan to attract voters from that half of the voters. Mitt stated that 47% was pretty much a lost cause and his campaign would concentrate on the 10% if independents. What a marvelous plan! Why would anyone contribute for such a weak campaign strategy?

      • nickshaw

Maybe because Zero still pulls about 47% in the polls so, in fact, they are a lost cause, Helen?

        • MarioP

Ok bozo, so you believe that 47% are those who are voting for Obama? Well, many of those voting for Obama are CEOs, business owners, and the working class, all paying taxes. So your explanation of who the 47% are doesn’t make sense, just like when Mitt said it. And like Romney, you don’t even know who that 47% are. No one can pinpoint what group of people Romney was yapping about.

          • nickshaw

Did I say I knew who the 47% were, Helen?
According to recent polls, about 47% go for Zero. As such, Mitt can probably write them off. He said himself he’s going for the 10% in the middle.
Mind you, come voting day, Zero’s actual support will be closer to the low 4os
We shall see. At any rate, Zero’s going to lose. Then we’ll see the true face of the progressives!
            Nighty night now, Helen.

Our top political priority during this election cycle is to

Please go spew your hate speech on yahoo.  They will appreciate you over there.

  • MarioP

    Burt,
All your complaints about Obama are minor issues, or are actually non existent, to the average voter. Yet you blow them up in your mind to fuel your anger. Calm down or you’ll pop a vein for no good reason. Those “messes” you blame Obama for are typical issues a past president had to deal with. But how many presidents of ours have started an unjustified war or devastated the economy? The voter is very aware how horribly wrong things could actually be if someone incompetent would be in command. We just lived through a complete disaster, and your bickering is over elementary or non-existent issues. If you had the stomach for Bush2, you surely should have no problem keeping Obama down.

Regarding that 47% statement Romney made, you do not understand what a blunder that really was. You excuse Romney’s comment as a generalization referring to only the lazy Americans and believe that is what Mitt meant to say had he put it more elegantly. But you fail to notice how truly lame that comment was. Romney was asked how he will get voters to vote for him, especially the ones who depend on government aid. The person asking the question wanted to know what Romney’s plan was, so the money being donated was not going to a lost cause. However, instead of presenting his strategy on how to gain voters, Romney went off tangent about some 47% of Americans his campaign could not reach because they depended on federal aid. What? Who are this 47%? I doubt the members of the fundraising banquette even understood what was coming out of Romney’s mouth, because it made no sense. Was Mitt talking about the 47% as being the Democrats who would never vote for a Republican? Well, that makes no sense because not all of those Democrats depend on federal aid, since many are successful businessmen. Was Mitt talking about the 47% as being anyone who received federal aid? Well, that also makes no sense since some of those vote Republican, like retirees and some ignorant conservatives who take the benefits but don’t want others to get them. So what group of voters is that 47%? Even Romney doesn’t know what group he was trying to alienate. He mixed up his stats, and his answer on how he was going to gain more voters made no sense. Romney, had a brain fart.

Therefore Burt, the point of that lame 47% statement isn’t that Romney was not going to reach the voters who abuse the federal aid. The point is that Romney believes he has no chance on attracting this fictitious half of the nation and he will instead only concentrate on the independents. He never looked into the varying voter demographics to select a target group and try to convince them he was the right choice. His answer exposed him running a campaign without a plan, and that’s the blunder you missed.

    • nickshaw

There has only been one unjustified war to my recollection and that was Viet Nam, Helen.
I wonder, what stripe president was in charge of starting that debacle?

    • Drew Page

Admittedly it will be tougher for Romney to attract voters.  He’s not promising them a lot of freebies.   He isn’t promising amnesty to illegal aliens. He isn’t going to turn over the Dept of Labor to Richard Trumpka or Andy Stern.  He isn’t going to extend unemployment compensation benefits for another two years.   He won’t run up another $6 trillion deficit in three and-a-half years.  He will cut taxes for individuals and businesses.  He will lift the ban on oil and gas exploration on public lands and lift the bans on nuclear and coal fired power plants.  He will reverse the business smothering rules and regulations imposed by Obama’s Executive Orders and the EPA.   He will persue favorable trade agreements with China.   People who want to find a decent job and/or keep the one they have will vote for Romney.  But you and your ilk can continue to reprimand him for his 47% comment and the abount he paid in taxes.

      • MarioP

So, can you tell me who that 47% is? Or do you agree that figure was not what Romney was trying to say.

Obama didn’t run up $6T in debt. Obama’s first budget took effect when the debt was at $11T. And also note that of those $5T Obama racked up, $1.5T was his doing while the $3.5T was due to the recession. That analysis came out this summer, but maybe you missed it.

Why cut taxes? We need to pay off this debt that was mostly racked up by Republican presidents.

        • Jeffreydan

We do indeed need to pay off this debt mostly rack up by Republican presidents who spent like liberals. How much of an effect will any tax increase Obama has proposed have on the debt?

    • http://profile.yahoo.com/OPNB6IPETRLINDT2YVYONNTUEY BARBARA

I do not overlook Romney’s comment as a generalization.  I see this whole issue as being blown way out by the MSM.  Romney was at a fundraiser talking to his supporters how a block of people will never vote for him because they would vote for their pocketbook.  He never said he didn’t care about them or anything close to it, he was saying he would never win their support.  Guess the truth hurts that approximately 100 million people get some form of public assistance not counting social security.   The only reason this is a story is because the MSM has spun the story into Romney not caring.

      • MarioP

That 47% is a story because when asked what Romney’s plan was to attract the aid dependent voters, he stated that none of the 47% will vote for him because they depend on federal aid. He didn’t know that within that number he was including Republican retirees and Republicans who are of younger than retirement age who get federal benefits. Romney believed that that entire 47% was a lost cause. He had no plan to target a specific demographic, because he didn’t study what options he had. His plan was just to try to attract the 10% of independents.

  • Lucky3511

My feeling is that Mitt Romney was put in to lose. The RNC does not want to win this election. When it appeared that in spite of himself, he was still going to win, RNC put in his VP who runs around the country doing a Biden on Romneys campaign. He quotes cutting Entitlements to old people who frequently have only that to live on. He would drop the term entitlements, we know who he is talking about . I never hear a mention of all that they both could be hitting the Great Pretender with. How about his constant golf  and   working???  trips. He and Michelle using our dollars for world trips. Spending $35,000,000.00 on a new mansion for 2013. Not bad for a poor boy .
Maybe the RNC do not want to be listed as the party in charge when America collapses and they are beholden to their donors to continue this rampant spending spree.

    • BurtPrelutsky

Lucky: Romney and Ryan have assured old people that their plan to reform entitlements won’t affect them, and I speak as an old person.  But unless some grown-up does something about entitlement reform, nobody will receive anything a few years from now.  Obama has shown time and again that he’s not an adult.

      Burt

    • nickshaw

There may be some merit to your argument that the Republicans are loathe to take over the reins after Zero has done so much damage, Lucky.
It’s going to be a heck of a job getting the ship turned and teaching the idiots who voted for Zero a lesson by giving him the win just might hammer it home that lib / progressives couldn’t run a lemonade stand if their lives depended on it.
Delicious as that might be, I honestly can’t fathom Mitt being put in to lose.
Teaching idiots a lesson versus an extreme hardship on approximately half of the population in an effort to teach the idiots just doesn’t compute.
The progressives are the party of crash the system, not us.
Nope, Mitt is the best of the lot. We need a hard headed businessman to fix this mess. I just hope he doesn’t back down. Electing true conservatives to congress and the senate will help prevent that.

Zero was brought up by bullsh!ttters so he learned early how to bullsh!t.
He bullsh!tted his way through college and got a job where bullsh!t is a prerequisite, lawyering.
    But
that was too much for him ’cause he knew that the competition is fierce
in that profession. It’s really difficult to out bullsh!t bullsh!tters
who will take the time to exact vengeance when they are crossed so he
moved to the ultimate job for a bullsh!tter. Community organizing.
Convincing “victims” that they should have more from others doesn’t take
a lot of bullsh!t and no one is going to attack when the bullsh!tter
doesn’t always win. He’s doing it for the good of the community afterall
and the government is mean and hates black people (they know this
’cause the pastor at the church the bullsh!tter attends tells them so).
    The
bullsh!tter then builds a base of these gullible takers and soon moves
into the next circle of the ultimate bullsh!tter job, politics.
(community organizing through to president are merely expressions of the
ultimate bullsh!tter’s job but with more followers)
Since Zero realized, truly realized, that he was a good
bullsh!tter, when he became a community organizer, each step up the
bullsh!tter ladder gives Zero only fleeting satisfaction. He knew, in
his own mind, that he could do it so, it was no big deal to him when he
    did.
He knows the consequences of pushing the UN into more and more prominence (particularly Agenda 21) on the American stage.
    His
goal now is moving into the role of Secretary General of the UN. A UN
much more entwined with US politics due to his efforts.
    He will reach
    that goal too.
What is the UN but a community of takers just waiting to
    be organized?
And I will bet he gets multiple terms!
I agree with Burt, when things go wrong, Zero just blames something or someone else. In fact, I don’t doubt someone in State had the anti-mohammad (piss be upon him) video cued up ready for just such an eventuality!

THIS IS A  GREAT COLUMN BY BURT  PRELUTSKY.
THEREFORE, NATURALLY, WE WILL NOT SEE IT IN ANY  LIBERAL  PAPERS.
LIKE THE  (DEMOCRAT  PHILA   INQUIRER, OWNED BY THE  DEMS OF  N JERSEY.,  BOUGHT AT  BANKRUPTCY SALE  NO. 4
    JERRY  BORIS  PHILA

    • BurtPrelutsky

To be fair, Jerry, you also won’t see it in any conservative periodicals, such as the WSJ, the Weekly Standard or Townhall magazine.  They have all had their shot.

      Burt

  • Rick Johnson

Speaking of FDR. This country was worse off after his first term, and then his second term. Britain’s huge need for war materials bailed out his butt and he won his third term. The current occupant in the White House looks way too much like FDR. I hope the voters aren’t as naive as they were in the 30′s!

    • nickshaw

I believe the voters are worse today, Rick.
In the thirties they were promised free stuff. Chicken in every pot and all that.
Today, they have the chicken now they want the car in the detached garage!
They already know they can get free stuff. They just want more.

    • Lucky3511

I am pretty sure they are, but I am hoping and praying that sense will sink in.

    • BurtPrelutsky

Rick:  I’m not sure if the voters are more naive, or simply greedier.  They are definitely lazier.  During the Depression, most folks actually wanted to work and were ashamed to let people know they were on the dole.

      Burt

  • Soubellvoter

I hope in the debates, when Obama comes up with that fair shot baloney, Romney will fire back and ask him how does anyone get a fair shot at success when he (Obama) is keeping everyone dependent on gov’t handouts!! A job is a much better deal. Happen  to see a part of Heraldo Rivera (by accident) tonight and seems the people starring in the controversial film; all claimed to be duped by the producer. How ironic; the actors are ding-bat Obama hollywood liberal supporters!!!!Couldn’t stop laughing!

    • nickshaw

And, like all dingbat liberal supporters, the first thing they want to do is sue.
Even though they signed contracts to act in the video.
Come to think of it, the backers should be the ones doing the suing!
      They call that acting???? ;-)

    • BurtPrelutsky

Soubell:  Dingbats in Hollywood?  Surely you jest.

      Burt

  • Deny916

“It’s just about impossible to determine Obama’s biggest blunder because there have been so many, both foreign and domestic. But certainly near the top of the list was his fawning speech in Cairo, in 2009, when he delivered a mea culpa on behalf of the United States while flinging orchids to the assembled Arabs and Muslims. ”

Burt that is so true, and it has only gone down hill from there!  If seeing those pictures of Ambassador Stevens being dragged through the street of Libya doesn’t PISS of every red blooded American then there is no hope left of getting idiot boy out of office in November!  God forbid.

    • BurtPrelutsky

Deny:  I am confident that Romney will prevail, just as Reagan prevailed over Carter in spite of the poll numbers.

      Burt

      • Deny916

Thanks Burt!  That mkes me a whole lot better–for real!  I just have to start ignoring these polls because they are driving me nutz!

      • Lucky3511

Burt, your lips to gods ears

      • nickshaw

I agree, Burt. As long as Mitt doesn’t step in anything during the debates (and to be fair, in my estimation he has yet to step in anything except media and Zero campaign spin, sorry for the redundancy) he will win by 5 to 10 points.
We all keep forgetting that Mitt was the guy who founded one of the most successful investment companies in the world. That makes him a tactician and negotiator of the highest order. He knows how to handle himself and an opponent at a face to face “meeting” and come out on top.
Other than numbers, which the press will “fact check” in real time, they will not be able to spin for Zero as easily as they have ’til now.

    • cmacrider

Deny:  If it gives you any comfort, check how the Canadian pollsters were wrong in the 2012 Alberta Provincial Election and the 2012 Quebec Provincial elections.  In the Alberta election the predicted a Wildrose Party victory and the results gave the Conservatives a majority victory.  In Quebec they predicted the governing Liberals would come in last out of the three contesting parties and the P.Q”s (left wing separtists) would get a majority of the seats.  Pollsters were wrong again, the Liberals came in second … just four seats less than the Separatists who could only form a minority government.  (i.e. less seats than the two federalist opposition parties)

      • Ssheikyerbhouti

I suppose our Canadian Pollsters are just not up to their jobs.
I’m sure that American pollsters in the greatest country the world has ever seen are  the greatest pollsters ever.
So it’s no wonder people like Obama and their ” fans” think that the great anointed one can do nothing wrong. Just ask the media.

  • GlenFS

Our greatest need is a president willing to tell us the truth about where we are and what needs to happen to change where we’re headed.  Obama cannot give a single speech or interview without deception and cover.  Romney does tell the truth, not always in sweet tones, but the truth just the same.   I am sick of slick-talking, artful dodging from our leadership.

Anyone decieved by Obama this time around is a fool who should not be allowed anywhere near a voting booth.

    • BurtPrelutsky

We’re in total agreement, Glen.  Which means I’m going to have to re-think my position.  Just joshing.

      Burt

      • GlenFS

Nickshaw, by definition comatose people do not operate anything…. so I’m not getting your point?

        • nickshaw

Obamazombies / voting, Glen.  They are about as competent as the comatose and should not be allowed to decide who should lead us. ;-)

    • nickshaw

On that theme, Glen, would we allow people in a coma to operate a bulldozer?
      Same difference. Just sayin’.

    • Lucky3511

Someone has already written the book “Fool Me Twice” I am hoping that will not apply to the next election. Obama cannot tell the truth, he does not know the difference between truth and fantasy.

  • Bruce A.

Mitt speaks the truth & he is villified.  Pres. Obama lies & the lap dog media gushes all over him.   What gives?

    • BurtPrelutsky

Bruce: What gives is mainly the American public’s faith in the lap dog media.

      Burt

      • Lucky3511

Because thru a great part of the 20th Century, newspapers and journalists did a tremendous job often under very hard circumastances. The supported and relied on them It was as the left wing loons gained control and the UOMe mentality took hold in America USA lost its way.

Anyone who has ever confronted the family pooch after he’s made a mess on the carpet knows there’s a brief moment when Fido glances around to see if perhaps there’s another dog in the house who can be blamed.”

I guess in the Romney household, you can find that other dog in a box on top of the car.

    • NS Sherlock

But isn’t it true that the dog will get to see all 57 states?

      • Alden514

only if they don’t eat it first

    • BurtPrelutsky

Chas: I hope you’re not saying that in order to chastise the Romneys.  Having owned dogs, I can assure you that a dog who got to ride safely atop a car, instead of trying to get 100% of his head and 95% of his body out a car window, would be the envy of every dog on the planet

      Burt

    • cmacrider

Chas:  In addition to Burt’s points …. “The word is out on the street” that Romney’s dog gets better treatment than Obama’s blue dog democrats.”

    • nickshaw

My God, Helen! Are you cat people still going on about Shamus?
As a dog owner with a pickup, I can tell you exactly where my dogs are happiest and so could any owner of a car and a dog bigger than a loaf of bread!
How come you don’t complain about any number of open trucks carrying cows, horses, pigs and sheep by the way (unless you’re stuck behind them in traffic)?
