Ron Paul: Wrong on the Taliban

Ron Paul knows even less about the history of our enemies than he does about their proper treatment under the Constitution. He actually interrupted Monday night’s Republican candidates’ debate so he could interject the following:

I would like to point out one thing about the Taliban. The Taliban used to be our allies when we were fighting the Russians. So Taliban are people who want — their main goal is to keep foreigners off their land. It’s the al-Qaeda — you can’t mix the two. The al-Qaeda want to come here to kill us. The Taliban just says, “We don’t want foreigners.” We need to understand that, or we can’t resolve this problem in the Middle East. We are going to spend a lot of lives and a lot of money for a long time to come.

Total criminal propaganda akin to Saddam “being connected to al-qaeda” and Iran being “connected to al-qaeda” and everyone is connected to al-qaeda and doesn’t that work out juuuust fine for the arms-makers, dealers and the Military-Industrial Complex and the oil plunderers and the opium plunderers and the lithium plunderers and the criminal banksters who launder it all; doesn’t that work out just roses?
Taliban never attacked our country, certainly not a national threat by ANY measure. They’re fighting for their land, just as they did against the Soviets who, I’m sure, accused them of all sorts of nasty enterprises just as we are now…which is ironic since we were supplying them weapons on the down-low to FIGHT the Russians with…
Yeah, we even met up with a “resistance fighter” whose family the Bushs knew well, name of Bin Laden. Head of a muhajadeen cell. CIA kept all their names on a Database. In Arabic, “database” is “al-qaeda viannet”. Later called just “The Base”. Al-qaeda.
CIA runs al-qaeda. Always has. Them being “connected to the taliban” is as spurious as them being connected to anything else. It’s “controlled opposition” to keep the wheels of profitable war turning and the sheeple paying into it.
Taliban may be scum. Had no plans to invite them to my birthday party. But they’re fighting against foreigners occupying their lands same as we would if we were being occupied by invading troops, say Chinese.
    Or Russian.
…taliban harbored al-qaeda! what a joke. No evidence of course. Because there is none.
Just take Goldberg’s word for it. It’s not like he has foreign interests over our own or anything, right?
Bought and paid for criminal propagandist sock-puppet talking point regurgitator that he is.
You know what to do in 2012, patriot.

Ron Paul is exactly right. The Taliban may not be nice guys but they had nothing to do with 9/11. I have spent 2 years fighting in Afghanistan. The War on Terror was supposed to catch Osama and break up the Al Qaeda not invade Iraq to get revenge for Bush Sr. and overthrowing the government of Afghanistan and force the people into what we think there country should be.

    More neocon garbage.

Try reading the book “In the Graveyard of Empires” by Seth Jones.

Paul is precisely right on this issue; Goldberg and the author of this blog just can’t see past their own narrow agendas.
