Say Thank You, You Numbskulls!

So President Obama is “amused.”  He’s baffled over why those nutty Tea Party people are holding rallies to protest, of all things, high taxes.  What a bunch of yahoos!  After all, a lot of them got tax cuts, thanks to the generosity of Obama’s stimulus plan.  Besides, he’s vowed not to raise taxes on people making under $200,000 a year, and couples making under $250,000.  That takes in a lot of tea partiers, right?

So what are they screaming about, those jerks?

“I’ve been amused in recent days by these people having rallies,” the president told a fundraiser in Miami.  “I think they should be saying ‘Thank you.’”  Upon hearing that, members of his adoring crowd began cheering and a lot of them started yelling — “Thank you.”

Well, let’s examine a few possibilities that might explain what’s driving those Tea Parties.  Maybe the tea partiers are protesting because they think that sooner or later – probably sooner — their taxes will be going up, no matter how much they make.  Why would they think that?   Maybe, because with all the spending going on in Washington these days, somebody’s going to figure out pretty soon that even if Obama, Pelosi and Reid confiscated 100 percent of the money the “rich” earn, that wouldn’t be nearly enough to pay for all the stuff Obama has been pushing through his Democratic Congress.  And maybe, the tea partiers figure, that’s when the president and his co-conspirators in Congress will start going after the not-so-rich.

Or maybe they’ve figured out that if Obama and Company keep spending money we don’t have, interest rates will start climbing and maybe even reach Jimmy Carter stratospheric levels.  So if you buy a car, a house, a refrigerator, anything on credit, it’s going to cost you more.  And by “you” I mean all of you, whether you’re rich, poor, or  middle class.  And high interest rates will be a drag on the economy which could lead to another recession and even higher unemployment.  In other words, everybody will be hurt, including Tea Party folks.

Or maybe they’re worried that their children and grandchildren will be paying for Obama’s goodies long after the protesters have gone off to the big Tea Party in the Sky.

But something else amuses me about the president’s amusement.  I wonder: Would he, or any other liberal, ever dream of saying to white civil rights demonstrators, “Why are you here fighting for civil rights?  No one’s discriminating against you.”  Most people would get it.  They’re demonstrating because they think something is wrong in America – and so what if they’re not the direct victims of discrimination?

Maybe the Tea Party people see it the same way.  Maybe they don’t like high taxes even if they’re not the ones paying them.  Maybe they think high taxes only encourage high, out-of-control spending.  Maybe they think we’re going to go broke as a nation.  Maybe they’re justifiably scared.

So maybe the president shouldn’t be so damn condescending, so dismissive of the Tea Party protesters.  Because maybe those Tea Party nut-jobs aren’t nearly as dumb as he and other liberals think they are.

When I see the President doing a stand up routine as if he were a late night comic denigrating people not in the room to the cheers and laughter of the carefully selected people in the room, I think, “This is what we hired him for?” (And he does it while campaigning for a bill, not just while fund raising)

When I see insights such as this (below), I think, this… this is what we hired him for: to stand up with courage and be the source of notions even if they don’t fit into what is considered politically savvy or good for next term fundraising.

“I wonder: Would he, or any other liberal, ever dream of saying to white civil rights demonstrators, “Why are you here fighting for civil rights? No one’s discriminating against you.” Most people would get it. They’re demonstrating because they think something is wrong in America – and so what if they’re not the direct victims of discrimination?”

And then I wonder. Does Obama-the-President have anyone “in the room” offering insights and interpretations that dissect current events in sync with person that was portrayed by Obama-the-campaigner instead of Obama-the-Democrat? Do those views get denigrated, dismissed out of hand and labeled amusing? Or have they already been cleansed all together from the process of governing by the same old, same old washington spin machine that believes all opposing views must be destroyed?

    Dear Bernie Goldberg,

    Your ignorance is mind-blowing.

Things don’t stop and start with each new generation. NO, it’s like a snowball effect…the further down the hill the snowball rolls, the more snow it collects, & the bigger it becomes. And eventually, when it has become so big that we actually realize the snowball is a problem– whoever is there at the time has to do something to fix this snowball problem. Taxes and the reason for taxing at the rate we have too are not a result of the current administration– it’s a result of years and years of two political parties who care more about being the opposite of one another rather than what is best for our society.

    check please.

  • Stephen Colbert

Wow, it takes a lot of courage to only allow posts that praise Bernie.

    • Ed Johnson

      Stephen,

I’ve counted over 20 messages from you in addition to hundreds from others that have a strong lack of “praise” for Bernie. Perhaps the ratio of positive/negative comments is so high because bernie is writing about topics that the Lamestream Media is afraid to touch– and people are happy about this. Maybe I’m wrong but I doubt there is some sort of post deleting conspiracy going on. If there is, they are doing a lousy job.

Maybe you would like to post on the forum and engage in some real discussion on this topic.

      • Stephen Colbert

Those messages were posted before Bernie started censoring his blog.

I totally agree with you as you have hit the nail on the head regarding Obama and the Teapartiers. As smart and good looking as the President is, frankly I am tired of seeing his face first thing each morning on cable TV. Besides hopping all over the globe, he is all over the US canpaigning again and again and not doing a good job of it. He is the most un-presidential president ever. For once, I would like to see him where he belongs….working at his desk in the oval office. By the way, I enjoy listening to you ever so much when you apprear on “Billy’s” show.

    • Jordan

Seriously, traveling all over the world on behalf of the U.S. to get treaties and common goals established for the U.S. makes him a bad president. You’re essentially condemning him for working too diligently…And what to you, exactly qualifies as “a good job of it” as far as traveling is concerned. (You can’t call it campaigning, considering…its not campaigning…look up difficult words before applying them..).

  • William III

I’m pretty sure you just put words in his mouth. So your point is that they should protest at rallies because they think their taxes are going to go up in the future? Don’t these people have jobs they need to be working rather than protesting against ghosts and goblins? Bullocks!

  • Gerry

Ah…the world of Black and White. So, higher taxes and interest are inherently bad. So, one should have it ALL for no cost at all. Perhaps the role of government should be to provide for the common good while holding back excesses in the economy and allowing the fine adjustments to be made by the markets. That says that a high interest rate is useful for slowing an excess, while a low one spurs more economic activity. Taxes gather the resource to provide for the common good, but should not be high enough to strangle the economy. How high or low for each? Go by the numbers, not the rants. For decades, the Scandinavian countries have proved that high taxes and social welfare does not strangle an economy, provided only that things are held in reasonable balance. At this point, however, neither party nor news group nor protest group care about that. For them it’s only Black and White.

I’m so delighted to have amused His Eminence. At least, now he deigns to acknowledge the existence of dissenters (remember when he claimed to be completely unaware of the protests taking place right across the street from the White House?). That “thank-you” drivel is merely further evidence that he’s the most arrogant occupant the White House has ever seen, surpassing even the Clinton’s.

Are you intimidated by a confident black man?

      • 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue

Obama isn’t a confident black man…he’s mulatto with a chip on his shoulder, but you can have both halves.

      • http://anotherwritewingconspirator.wordpress.com/ Jim Seeber

Not at all. There is, however, a fine line between confidence and arrogance. That notwithstanding, any elected official occupies an office with the express mission of serving the people—not to summarily dismiss legitimate concerns (which, by the way, he isn’t addressing effectively), nor to treat the people in such a condescending manner.

And I’ll remind you that he’s only half-black.

    Hi Bernie,

You hit the nail on the head again. Obama does not even make the effort to pretend he respects alternative points of view anymore. He’s been told for a very long time now that he’s just so brillant and so magnificent by all the “right people” that critcism from the everyday American is simply not even worth considering. It’s just an amusement.

Actually his ego has grown to such a degree that he’s even blowing off the White House press corp.

I’m conviced that the President does not really mind if he gets a second term or not. His goal is to ram as much nanny-state expansion through as he can before he’s out.

    • Danielle

When did George W. Bush ever make an effort to respects any alternative points of view? I’m an everyday American and I believe PRESIDENT Obama has done a great job of trying to get Republicans and Democrats to work together in the short time he’s been in office. Conservatives are so narrow minded and affraid of change that they won’t allow him to work with on anything.

      • Faye

Let the electors speak in November as to what kind of a President we have. Novemeber can come fast enough for me. Tired of throwing shoes at the TV set. Here’s what he’s up to next (unless I misunderstood). RE: HR-2454 (Cap and Trade): Scheduled to be introduced next Monday (April 26th): You could be required to bring your house up to par – making it energy efficient in every sense of the word (can you say GE in bed with Democrats(?)). So much for the housing market making a come back anytime soon.

I find it extremely difficult to believe that even hard-core Democrats and Liberals can’t figure out that tax upon tax (and all the other idiotic ‘ideas’ being ram-rodded through), will affect them as much as it will with the Conservatives!!

      • CCNV

I meant to say “prior to selling your house”. Duh…sorry.

      • Stephen Shields Springfield, IL

That bill is a joke. The concept would work in the free market, but the government puts stiff penalties (Taxes, fines, etc.) on delinquents.

        • Jack Davis

I’m reminded of “Runaway Train,” with Jon Voight, Eric Roberts, John P. Ryan and Rebecca De Mornay: “Manny climbs onto the roof of the lone engine in the freezing cold and blowing snow, his arms stretched out in a cruciform shape, ready to meet his end.”

As Obama piles outrage upon outrage, I keep telling my wife: “We’ll see what happens at the November midterm elections.” True, November may be too late to stop some of this legislation from becoming law. Still, with a proper revamping of Congress, perhaps some of the effects of Obama’s lunacy can be ameliorated.

One can only hope that enough voters are pissed off enough to put the brakes on Obama’s runaway train.

          • Danielle

Did any of you complain when George W. Bush piled on outrage after outrage? Really what world do you people live in?

Dear Mr. Goldberg: Here’s an old adage with a new twist. When it’s left against right it’s affirmative action, when it’s right against left it’s discrimination, racism,or amusing. Is it just me but does the political climate emanating from D.C. resemble Paris in the early 30′s, without the violence? Also let me see if I have this correct in my snow pea of a brain. When u have back taxes and u final after 5 years have payed off your debt u are excited to have that finally out of the way.I believe we should have 12% tax across the board. But to have U.Sam out of the way is awesome, people are sick of paying taxes if u look there are about 5-6 thing’s are on your phone they Tax u for.If u by parts for YOUR car OR boat, by the time it reaches u it has been taxed about 5 to 7 times and that’s before u get to the check out till. These guys on capitol hill and the Anti-American president have no concern about what normal people have to come up with to carry on regular day,to do even small thing’s in there life to move forward. And they don’t care, and it shows. When was the last time a government agency go’s to congress to say well we have cut about a million dollars on our budget…NEVER..THEY ALL WAYS WANT MORE,THEY DON’T HAVE TO ACCOUNT FOR IT, THEY ALWAYS WANT MORE,MORE. TERM LIMITS TO….

    • Mark D’Truth

12%, hmmm where did you get that number from? Couldn’t possibly be from your hero Beck could it? How fortunate for Beck. If you made $50,000 last year your tax rate would drop by 13%. But if you were Beck it would drop by 20% and next year, when the Bush tax cuts are rescinded (about time), his rate would be reduced by 24.9%. So who benefits from this great one tax rate fits all? Not the middle class who would see tremendous reductions in education, highway infrastructure, health care, Social Security, Medicare and a host of other programs. After all you can’t expect a reduction in tax revenues without a corresponding reduction in public spending.

  • Ken Besig Israel

As an American I expect my President to act like a President and represent all Americans, not just the ones who like him.
If he finds those Americans who oppose his policies or just dislike him to be amusing, he can and should keep it to himself or at worst, congratulate them for standing up for their principles, even if those principles are at odds with his.
His condescending remarks make him look more and more like a big crybaby who blubbers and moans when any one criticizes him.
His whining and moaning like this is beginning to play a little thin, but what is worse is that he is acting like a tin pot dictator who represents those who support him and resents and rejects those who don’t.

    • Bruce A.

Well said Ken. I think his also applies to the Presidents supporters.

    • CCNV

Well, well…looks like “Chumly” is back. So, Wil, tell me…why are ALL the Liberals and Democrats so terrified of Sarah Palin?? Does the TRUTH hurt?? I find it extremely amusing that a woman has every Democrat and Liberal shaking in their boots!!

      • Dennis Coffey

CCNV says, among many posts, this on April 17, 2010 at 5:12 pm: “So, Wil, tell me…why are ALL the Liberals and Democrats so terrified of Sarah Palin?? Does the TRUTH hurt?? I find it extremely amusing that a woman has every Democrat and Liberal shaking in their boots!”

I respond to two of your issues: (1.) Not ALL Democrats and Liberals are “terrified” of, or shaking in our boots over Sarah Palin. We’re just concerned and angered that a major political party would nominate such an ineffective, partisan, foolish hack to an office that would be first in line to replace the President were something to happen to that old man. (2.) She often does not speak the TRUTH. (E.g.: her “death panel” claims about the health care reform bill, among her many untruths.)

    • Lorelei In Tune

Your posts can’t be trusted, Wil.

In one of Mr. Goldberg’s previous columns, you complained about Sarah Palin as if she had held national office, when everyone (except you) knows that she didn’t.

I mean, if you got THAT basic fact wrong, you simply can’t be trusted to get complex issues right.

    • Ken Besig Israel

      Wil,
I didn’t mention that Obama is Black because he isn’t, he is mixed race, just as much White as he is Black, something that used to be called mullatto. Sadly like so many Liberals you are unaware of this, like so many other obvious facts, thus maybe you should take a “time out” and study up on these things so you don’t make such stupid and easily avoidable mistakes in the future.

    • Michael J. Ruch

Thank you Ken. My feelings exactly; My disgust over his statement was instant and even though i disagree with practically everything the president has done, thus far, I’ve felt that his speech has been almost flawless.
This may be a good sign. Perhaps this young man is loosing his grip. Lets hope so.

    • EddieD_Boston

Even though I voted for McCain I actually thought Obama was a very decent guy and honestly gave him the benefit of doubt. The economy needed fixing and the country obviously wanted to go in a different direction. I bought into it. Plus, Obama is my age (he’s almost exactly 12 months younger than I am) and I thought it was pretty cool to have a president who has the same life references as I do. Unfortunately, I’ve come to realize Obama really is a left-wing loon. I used to think liberals were naive but have come to realize they are arrogant, self-righteous no-nothings (see: W. Burns). It is frightening. I first came to this realization with the Cambridge Police/Harvard affirmative action token controversy last year. His knee-jerk reaction was to blame the cop, not the attention depraved, race hustler. Then the Blame-America-for-Everything world tour sealed the deal with me. I really don’t like this guy. He’s gotta go before this great country is taken down the path to European socialism, which is a failure at EVERY turn. Where can I get my “don’t blame me I voted for McCain bumper-sticker?

PS. Hey Wil, now that you’ve been sent to your room maybe you can spend time educating yourself about Europe’s double-digit unemployment DURING THE BEST ECONOMIC TIMES. Also bone up on their 50% tax rate. Then learn about Ireland’s job creation successes after lowering their corporate income tax to 11%. It’ll do you a world of good yanking your head out of your ass.

  • perry

Poor Wil, now he won’t have a reason to ride his bike to the library and use the free computers.
By the way Bernie, you are correct. Obama thinks the tea party, and even the liberals,
    are a bunch of fools.
I read the other day that 1in4 of those people that took the 8,000 dollar tax credit for buying a home were going to be audited. How’s that for Tax Relief?

  • Tim Ned

I heard Bernie’s comments pertaining to special needs. His comment was based upon Sarah Palin’s decision not to abort Trig. The fact is that abortion is a liberal agenda, not conservative. CASE CLOSED! My wife and I decided over 30 years ago that perhaps in some way we could help make a difference. We support schools in Africa and Bosnia and allocate special funds in these schools to support special needs children. I hate to think what would happen to these kids if we not only stopped donating but did not physically inspect to insure that those kids were properly taken care of. Separately, we pay off local chieftains to insure our money goes to the schools. A hard fact of reality in these countries.

To those of you who have posted notes here pertaining to your special needs kids; if you cannot decipher the context of a comment in the context in which they are used; shame on you. And to refer to John Stewart, a comedian, who referred to Harry Truman as a war criminal as a point of reference is absolutely shameless.
Obama supporters are so quick to defend his statements no matter how ridicules they may be and the press gives him every break on every network. So why can’t you at least give a traditional journalist a break and more directly, at least look at the context? I know why because it’s your politics!

    • http://www.rummelhudson.com Robert Rummel-Hudson

Case closed? Because you say it is? That’s a very effective position you’ve taken there. I can’t imagine why more people aren’t convinced by your airtight logic.

      • Tim Ned

Oh yes Robert. And where do you get your information? The daily show? I quote “If a women going into the delivery room states it’s an abortion, it’s an abortion. If she states it’s a birth it’s a birth”. Guess who said it? You won’t find the answer on the comedy channel and to give you a hint, watch the Rick Warren Presidential debate.

I watched Bernie on O’Reilly and I know what he said. If your debate is abortion is not a liberal agenda, you’re watching way to much to comedy channel.

        • http://www.rummelhudson.com Robert Rummel-Hudson

I’d love to see where I ever said a thing about abortion. My position has been clear from the beginning, and it has nothing to do with abortion or politics, and everything to do with the dignity of children and families with disabilities, and the respect they deserve from cable news pundits like Mr. Goldberg. If you’re incapable of seeing beyond your talking points and actually reading and comprehending, I can’t help you.

          • Tim Ned

Bernie Goldberg’s statement that Stewart referred to was a snapshot of the entire interview on O’Reilly. My position is the context of his statement is much different than what you heard on Stewart. In this discussion was abortion which is a liberal agenda confirmed by President Obama during the Rick Warren Debate. I see well beyond specific statements and watched all the debates, read the news and make my judgement based upon that. Not based upon what John Stewart states!

          • http://www.rummelhudson.com Robert Rummel-Hudson

You just aren’t listening. Should I go all caps for you? FOR THOSE OF US WITH DISABLED KIDS AND FAMILY MEMBERS, THE ISSUE ISN’T ABORTION OR THE LIBERAL AGENDA WHATEVER ELSE YOU WANT TO MAKE IT ABOUT. THE ISSUE IS MR. GOLDBERG’S USE OF OUR CHILDREN TO SCORE POLITICAL POINTS. I rarely agree with Sarah Palin’s positions, but where disability parenting is concerned, she’s earned her place at the podium. But unless Mr. Goldberg has a child with a disability and has even an inkling of what the lives of our families are like, he’s got no business trying to speak for any of us, liberal or conservative. And frankly, neither do you. Co-opting the pain of other families, pain that you know nothing about, in order to sound cute and smug on the cable news channels, that’s just a dick move, no matter what your politics may be. We’re not here to back up your talking points. Help us or leave us alone.

  • Ron Kean

    Bernie,

I’m one of the ones that have been coming here the longest (and I’ve bought and read 2 of your books – ARROGANCE & 100 PEOPLE ).

Personally, lately I think you’re on a roll and I think it’s great. Keep doing that stream of conciousness. That’s why we’re here.

As more people are discovering you, you seem to be getting more negative posters.

You may take the good with the bad just to see how high the number of posters get, but if you ask me (which you didn’t), boot the son-of-a-%!#@%&$ that you don’t like. We don’t like them either.

Heck, Obama boots the whole press corp (that’s pronounced corpse) when he wants. He even told them he was going to his daughter’s soccer game to ditch ‘em and there wasn’t even a soccer game.

    Now THAT’S crazy. You’re not.

  • http://www.rummelhudson.com Robert Rummel-Hudson

Mr. Goldberg, I see that your statements regarding liberals and children with disabilities has come up once again on The Daily Show. I actually feel sorry for you, knowing that this incredibly insensitive and idiotic statement will apparently never go away for you. It’s going to be something, and for many of us the MAIN thing, for which you’ll be remembered. Regardless of your (or my) political stripes, that’s just incredibly sad. I remain embarrassed for you, although I suspect that you remain much less embarrassed than you should by your remarks and your use of children with disabilities as a political tool. I hope you understand one day.

    • Stephen Shields Springfield, IL

Sorry your daughter has the disability. Kudos to you for the strength to make a burden into a joy. You have, however, taken Bernie’s words out of context. He has explained himself on numerous occasions.

      • Stephen Shields Springfield, IL

I should point out that I was also confused at first, but having read his latest book and seeing where that argument was derived from, he was speaking in jest and hypothetically. His argument comes from one that opposes pro abortion. One of the loudest arguments I hear from Pro-Choice proponents is that it is wrong to give birth to a child with a disability and they feel people who do so are insensitive and just plain evil.

I’ve read Mr. Goldberg’s explanations/justifications, I understand exactly what he meant, and I even agree that it has been taken in a lot of different ways, most of them unintended. But the thing that offended those of us, liberal and conservative alike, who have loved ones with disabilities, is the fact that using families with disabilities as a cheap ploy to score political points is insensitive, inappropriate, and just plain obnoxious. Neither myself nor Sarah Palin nor any of the other millions of Americans who deal with disabilities first-hand asked to join this club. No one asked our politics before enrolling us. And we don’t believe the same things, even where raising our children is concerned. But the very last thing we need is to watch as our children become talking points on cable news. That’s not liberal or conservative. That’s just rude.

          • Stephen Shields Springfield, IL

I never mentioned liberals or conservatives. Because I can’t speak from regular first hand dealing with a disability, I understand your disdain for the comment. I still don’t think it was meant to earn politcal points at the expense of disabled children. I’m involved with the Special Olympics here in Illinois and have some of the best times I can recall just having fun with those kids. They are a true joy.

….Mad? It wasn’t illegal and the Dem’s voted and PUSHED for it,..”Iraq is the only nation in the world to possess WMD-Tom Daschle in -1998……Saddams goal, retaining and enhancing WMD,we cannot,we must not and will not let him succeed- Madeline Albright,Clinton Secretary of state,-1998,…Iraq retains significant duel-use industrial infrastructure that can be used to rapidly reconstitute large-scale chemical weapons,..UN-WEAPONS INSPECTOR SCOTT RITTER-1998,….Saddam Hussein has been engaged in the development of WMD which is a threat to countries–NANCY PELOSI DECEMBER 16,1998,…AND THE LIST GOES ON AND ON!!!,..oh how easy liberals and dems forget,..BEFORE BUSH!
    * You didn’t get mad when we spent $1 trillion on said illegal war.
    …again,..not illegal…research is your friend

    * You didn’t get mad when over $10 billion dollars (in hard cash) just “disappeared” in Iraq .
..and who told you this? Is it the same people who stole 1 TRILLION in American tax dollars for crap, and can’t be accounted for?

…….after two wars,9/11,Katrina, hurricanes,….don’t like it, but understandable,..after ONE year Barry has spent more then the last 4 Presidents COMBINED!

No, but you did get mad when the government decided that people in America deserved the right to see a doctor if they are sick………read the bill,…then get back to us! This bill has NOTHING to do with the well being of Americans,..it’s all about an agenda.

Yes, illegal wars, lies, corruption, torture, stealing your tax dollars to make the rich richer, are all okay with you, but helping other Americans… oh hell no!

How about Obama, he sure hasn’t done anything good.

  • Jeff

Every Obama sound bite I’ve heard this last few days (and far too many since he took office) seems to be him whining about being criticized. Everything from saying they should just get out of his way, to fantasy tales that start with “I’ve heard people saying…”, to the current childish mocking. Quite a fine statesman we have here, no?

We had eight years of vile meanness thrown at President Bush with little to no reaction except the usual classiness, and now his self-entitled successor is pitching a perpetual fit at legitimate criticism.

BO has not earned the right to this level of cockiness.

    dowpig,

You write on this forum that you have a ‘special needs’ child. You appear to be wearing that like a crown. Do you enjoy the attention you receive by parading your ‘special needs’ child? I believe you may be angry for one of two reasons: 1) you are a single mother and already on government handouts, and are frustrated because you were told there is no FREE ObamaCare; or, 2) you are a stay-at-home-mother who resents driving a van to-and-from your children’s activities, and are living life through them. In either case, I would strongly suggest you find out why you have 5 kids and do something meaningful with your life. As a taxpayer, I owe you nothing!!

When are people going to stop saying “Democratic” and use the correct term?
It’s not the “Democratic Party” it’s the “Democrat Party”. It’s not the “Democratic convention” it’s the “Democrat’s convention”.
When have you ever heard anyone say “Republic Party” or “Republic’s Convention”?
To say “Democratic” means they’re the only ones who are…democratic.

    Bernie,

I am the mother of five, one of whom is austistic, I live in Utah, the reddest state in the nation, and I think President Obama is fantastic. I think his overhaul of healthcare is genius and am awestruck at his courage in ridding our world of nuclear weapons. I just watched a clip of you saying that “liberals don’t have 5 kids, especially one with down’s syndrome” and “liberals think everyone in the middle of the country are jerks.” How do you explain someone like me? And I am not an oddity – I have several friends in my very own neighborhood who agree with me. You on the other hand, are a racist pig, hiding behind a journalism degree to spout your hate. I do not generalize as I know bright, articulate people on both sides of the political spectrum and value everyone’s opinions as that is what makes this country great. You and Hannity and that idiot Beck are what make people think members of the tea party and other groups are moronic. Just wanted you to know that not every white, middle American mother with a special needs child thinks like you or Sarah Palin.

    • http://www.bernardgoldberg.com Bernie

You call me a “racist pig? and say I’m the one who spouts hate? What’s that line about the pot calling the kettle black? Looks like your special needs child has a special needs mother, a mother who has a special need for a little less anger in her life.

Dowpig – By what date can we expect the elimination of all nuclear weapons from the planet? It is simply amazing what a community organizer can get done. What part of the health care overhaul is genius? Have you even read it? I bet not. The colossal ignorance and arrogance of our current Government, both Democrats and Republicans, is appalling. The fact that many citizens blindly follow them is even worse. Granted that some changes needed to be made. But does it not bother you that legislation impacting almost a trillion dollars was not even read by the ones that voted for it?

    • Bill Fisher

Lady, would you please enlighten me as to how wanting to stop America from going bankrupt equates to being a racist and hateful person? What on earth does fiscal responsibility have to do with race? I am so sick and tired of all you morons rolling out the racist label, but perhaps it is because you have no facts on your side so you do what liberals do best, call those who do not agree with you vile names. I am also sick of the term “entitlements” since about 50% of you do not contribute any income tax, so therefore you surely should not be “entitled” to any government hand-outs. Have you ever given any thought to where those hand-outs are NOT going to come from when America is bankrupt? Well, have you?
