What’s Wrong with Michael Bloomberg?

September 11th., 2011 is the tenth anniversary of the worst attack on the United States of America - done by radical Islamics.  However, New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg has said that there would be no religious service or leaders present, no prayers offered up to God – in others words no comfort and/or solace to families of those who were murdered on that day.  For that matter, it’s not a day only for those just mentioned, but for all Americans.  I remember well when it was said that on that day we were all New Yorkers.  We still are!

So what’s the matter with Michael Bloomberg?  His lame excuse is that there isn’t time.  Huh?  There isn’t time?  Actually, it seems to me that time is all they have, and plenty of it.  Who is he afraid will be insulted by prayers?  Atheists?  A small percentage of people?  If that’s the reason, I think it’s time to stop placating the few, and thus insulting the many.  Political correctness is out of hand and has been for a long time.  Since when does the world stop turning for a few people who might be offended by prayer?  Don’t tell me that there isn’t time to have a leader of every faith attend the service, and send up a prayer for those taken, and for those who remain and have to live with the consequences of those misguided Muslims.  Who could be offended by The Lord’s Prayer?  It would be suitable for any faith.

Lord, deliver me from the horns of the unicorn.

Bloomberg is an arrogant ignoramus. One of his stated reasons for excluding clergy is because “of the Constitutional separation of church and state.” Regards, Burt

Mayor Bloomberg has also “uninvited” the first responders to the anniversary of 9/11 – those brave men who risked their lives to save those trapped in the buildings. And, I suppose the families of those who died trying to save others are also not invited. No first responders, no religious leaders – who else isn’t invited to attend?

What people should do is go anyway and start a prayer of some kind on their own whether it suits Bloomberg or not. Or sing “Gob Bless America” as Sean Hannity has suggested.

Bloomberg – how crass can you get?

What’s wrong with Bloomberg is that he is a moron. He has actually said that he thinks that the government shouldn’t interfere in your life unless the government chooses to do so.

For a successful politician he surely seems to have a shocking talent for offending everyone?!

Dear God New York City! Why do you keep electing jerks?

This is clearly a decision by the wimpy mayor to appease a few at the expense of many.

I doubt there are too many atheists (me, included) who would be offended by prayers at the memorial ceremony.

What I believe Bloomberg is afraid of is a reaction to the appearance of a Moslem Imam offering prayers to Allah. Of course, the absence of any such reaction in the days following the 9/11 tragedy, when it would appear to have been a more likely occurence, makes this highly unlikely, but Bloomberg’s liberal thinking prevents him from appreciating that.
