Our country’s problem with illegal immigration isn’t exactly a new. 35 years ago, I did a series of reports for CBS News’s 48 Hours chronicling the plight of those who, in some cases, risked it all to come to the United States for a better life.
Here are three of those television segments: two chronicling the situation at the southern border (alongside overwhelmed border guards), and one covering Cuban refugees who came by sea.
