I’m happy to give Trump credit too. He did the right thing. Hopefully he continues to do the right thing and ignores his demagogue supporters like Gabbard, Carlson and Laura Ingraham. I hope their grasp on the Republican Party continues to wane until it’s nonexistent
Bill O. has a direct line, also, to Pres Trump and he encouraged him to ' do the right thing'-- which the President did. Bill's knowledge and understanding as an author of history books prompts Trump to ask him his opinion on certain topics. Age and wisdom are priceless!
I too, am very glad to see Trump listen to advisors who encouraged him to support Israel and take advantage of the opportunity (of an Iran whose air defenses are pretty much destroyed) to send in the heavy bombers to take out the nuclear facilities that Israel could not do alone.
I have been very critical of Trump and many of his policy decisions, but I'm happy to give him (or any other POTUS) credit when they do something I believe is right.
One aspect of this I find amusing is the hesitant reaction from many Democrats (as well as some Republicans). It seems they are waiting to see how things play out before getting on board to either praise or condemn Trump's actions. It's a political calculation of course, but the question is "where are your principles"?
If your principle is we shouldn't attack Iran no matter what, say so, and defend that position.
If your principle is Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon no matter what it takes, say so, and defend that position.
It seems like most Democrats' "principle" is "Iran cannot possess a nuclear weapon... unless of course, diplomacy doesn't work, in which case, oh well...."
Not sure if this was meant for the Friday Q&A, but I'll go ahead and answer it now.
I've seen what you're describing, and I think that position is indeed well represented on the left. I think it's basically idealism, in that there just HAS to be a peaceful pathway for Iran giving up its nuclear weapons program, despite Iran's numerous refusals over decades to do so. Such people have no real answer.
I lavished praise on a guy who garbage-name-calls people all the time, and then took to task individuals — referencing THEIR language (not mine) — who have been routinely garbage-name-calling people for the better of a decade for supposedly endorsing hypothetical actions that Trump, in reality, just carried out (to which they're suddenly okay with).
And for some reason, you were so incensed by this that you garbage-name-called me using language more vulgar than any I have ever used to describe anyone in my political writing.
As well as Pres Trump, and Pete Hegseth. I'm getting tone deaf to the trashy mouths. It's getting PG-13 or R even, and children are in the room in some homes. Trump threw the F- bomb; I've lost faith in him after that.

That would be great. As I've said many times, whenever he listens to "the establishment," the policy decisions are usually much better.

In memory of the late Brian Wilson:
Went to Natanz,
Spoke to a man,
Told him no nukes,
But he didn't understand!
Bomb Iran.💥

Is that how you see it?

Are you incapable of submitting a well-deserved compliment without all the garbage name calling and side issues? You're such a negative prick.
Just to review, Joe...

Fascinating stuff, Joe.
Wake up on the wrong side of the bed, Joe?
Joe does this sort of thing a fair amount.
