So true Bernie, so true. That's why not a small amount of people are looking for an alternative like News Nation and commentators like yourself. Both of whom are doing a great job!

No one asks what is really bothering them - them being the voter. The voter, the unhappy and angry ones, are unhappy with their position in life. Not enough money, usually, and employed in low paying and unrewarding jobs. Their financial position is inferior to many and is unlikely to get any better. They blame greed by others as the cause. I’ll blame the erosion of the middle class and loss of gainful employment as the actual cause. As for the wealthy angry ones, theirs can be explained as vailed guilt. When you’re at that level of anger and misery, no one wants to be to told differently. The underpinnings lay with the political class that caused this to occur over many decades. Democrats want wealth redistribution to levels that are impractical and detrimental to everyone else, and the Republicans want a marketplace free of interference that discounts its place in society. The angry ones that vote republican, also understand the loss of jobs, and the political class that caused it - which gave rise to Trump.

Fix gainful employment and the other things fix themselves.

So, I suggest that a town hall be held not by the political types, but by the voters of the aforementioned. I suspect the angry voters on both sides will have more in common than you think. Ask them, the angry ones, the question of jobs, immigration, taxation, and their well being. Ask them, not their political reps, and do so with the proviso that they can’t get up and leave without admitting defeat. Broadcast it.

What do you think..

The solution is to tune out entirely. Our household no longer has any service streaming these channels. Not missed. Good riddance. And what a cost savings (in dollars and brain cells).

There's no doubt I would pick Desantis over Newsom any day. But reviewing one fact pointed out in their debate on Hannity was the Meme that more people are moving to FL from CA than the other way around. I researched this and it may very well be more from FL to CA, but the numbers are so close it's difficult to ascertain either way. Facts matter.

I have a very liberal friend that's interesting to discuss politics with. The reason is he reads both sides of the story. Some of my other liberal friends I won't even bring up politics with. And I'm sure it's the same with shoe on the other foot.

Was that based on per capita population or absolute numbers? FL pop. is about 22 million and CA's is almost 40 million. At any rate, it shows that Gov. DeSantis was being dishonest. His clear implication is that FL is a magnet while CA is repulsion.

O'Reilly keeps saying that people are leaving NY because of high taxes. I really wonder how many of those leaving NY are retirees just wanting to go someplace warmer than NY.

This is probably what Mark Twain meant by saying that "there's lies, there's damn lies and then there's statistics."

There is really no way to know for certain as different newspapers tell a different story. The San Francisco Chronical seems to favor DeSantis. The reality is people are leaving CA for other states as well.

My very liberal colleague often flew to D.C. to meet with members of Congress regarding legislation. On one trip, he was seated next to Christopher Buckley whom he found reading Mother Jones. My colleague was shocked by this and even more shocked that Buckley told him he subscribed to Mother Jones. When he told me about this, he admitted he would never read a conservative publication much less subscribe to one.
