Yes, I hear Mr. O'Reilly say this all the time.
My understanding is that an anonymous source is when a news report gives certain information and says it comes from a source on the condition that he or she be anonymous, i.e. the reporter knows the source's identity but won't disclose it to the news consumer.
How often does O'Reilly disclose his sources? He brags about having "the best sources" of anyone in the business (who does that sound like?). But we don't know who they are.
The difference with O'Reilly is that he simply states things without actually saying "based on anonymous sources."
The example the questioner used above is apt. He's repeatedly said that about Rep. Pelosi, but we don't know where he gets this.

I can't say this too often, WHEN LISTENING TO BILL O'REILLY YOU OUGHT NOT TO REAX YOUR CRITICAL THINKING. Just because he speaks with confidence doesn't mean he's not spewing utter BS.
This $5000 “carrot” that Trump floated comes off to me as nothing more than a grandiose, BS, campaign promise like every other politician. And no, I don’t like it. The other thing is, how is this any different than Biden promising to pay off student loan debt.
To me, they are both “vote buying”. And again, I despise it. As always, I could be wrong. But I’m independent, so objectively, that’s my take on it. Every White House lies. And Politicians, especially in an election year, are prone to say anything. I rely on John and Bernie to sort things out. So I always appreciate that!!!!
And sadly we cannot trust most mainstream news sources either, and yeah that includes FOX & CNN & MSNBC (or whatever the hell they call themselves now) and PBS/NPR whether they want to admit it or not!
