The president sets the tone of the country, whether directly or indirectly. I feel as though Trump's demeanor "gives Americans permission" to curse in public more, normalize and peddle conspiracy theories, openly show hostility towards people with whom you disagree, etc, etc... And in fact, for SOME (not all) MAGA folks, it's a breath of fresh air - it allows then to openly show their biases and imagined victimhood, rather than suppress it. What say you, John and Bernie?
Does it get any more shallow, and embarrassing, that ANY politician wouldn’t stand up and applaud for our USA Olympic Team, simply because they don’t like the person who invited them.

In regard to tariffs, I should have said "circumventing the Constitution," not the law. I misspoke. Trump's been circumventing the law with other things (like TikTok), but with tariffs, the issue has been unconstitutionality.
I’ve been viewing tariffs similar to the Biden student loan issue. Both were situations struck down by the Supreme Court, and both involved additional presidential powers the president had used after the decisions. And both were accused by the other side of circumventing the courts (or law, or constitution) by using additional powers not directly tied to the relevant Supreme Court decision. And both (please correct me) tend towards the major questions doctrine used by the court.
