If there's such a political donnybrook in the GOP - even a well-executed one - I'd give it no more than a 50% chance of working, and probably far less. But I guess its chances of success probably are better than the current "strategy" of hoping some outside force(s) will take Trump down.

I think you're probably right on both accounts. And if it does end up working, there's always the high likelihood that Trump will try to sink the GOP nominee by other means.

I've said this many times, but the GOP should have handed Trump a richly deserved impeachment conviction. So many problems would be behind them by now, and our country would be much better off because of it.

Bernie, could it be that there is something like the “silent majority” consisting of R’s and I’s who voted for Trump and who will not admit they will not do that again.
