John: I appreciate the link to your discussion about The Heritage Foundation. It was interesting to listen to and sad that this conservative institution sold out and lost its way.

Thanks. I thought it was a good episode.

John and Bernie: dust off your crystal balls and pray foretell to us all if we are going to need to wear a crash helmet or just a seat belt will do. Curious minds want to know.

Just how do you know theirs are crystal? :)

As in “crystal clear”- well, these two gentlemen have an unclouded birds eye view of the train tracks, even maybe seeing in ultra violet colour like the raptors- is not that amazing?

Thank you! I hope you're having a great holiday season! Happy New Year!

John, just a simple pithy question riding into the new year, or is it marching into it? Is there a stonewall round the corner or is it going to be full steam ahead with no train wrecks? I want to hear your predictions.

John, I hope 2026 is a great and productive one for you and yours.

Thanks, and ditto!

I'm not so sure Mike Pence's political career is over. "Andy Dufresne crawled through 500 yards of shit-smelling foulness and came out clean on the other side." Similarly, Mike Pence crawled through 4 years of Trump crapping on everyone and everything and withstood the height of Trump bullying to remain true to his oath to the Constitution and the American people and came out clean, standing tall with his dignity and honor intact. People like Mike Pence are in very short supply. My hope is people will realize what we already have before we make further unwise election decisions.

John: I was reading some items on 9/11 and had this quick thought experiment – Realistically and not cynically, what would the reaction be if that happened today? In my mind, the left (especially the far left) would celebrate the destruction of the symbols of capitalism (American office buildings housing investment banks and bankers), the deaths of many Jewish people, and the beginning of the globalization of the intifada. The right (especially the MAGA right) would start going after ALL Muslims in public and private life, especially in Mamdani’s New York. They would expect absolute fidelity to Trump as he overreacted and ran roughshod over the Muslim community, perhaps even calling for WWII Japanese-style internment camps. The two most important events of the 21st Century were 9/11 and Covid-19. I think we would make better public policy decisions if we have another Covid. I think our decisions would be worse if another 9/11 happens. Or maybe now it is I who is overreacting?

I see you as just reacting to the obsessive -compulsive behaviors of the "stomp their ass" at any cost crowd. Methodology isn't important to the brainiacs, just results, collateral damage isn't accessed, or even considered, behaviors, outlandish as they are, are to be ignored, and criticism is to be severely punished. Until there is a more cohesive plan- After all, It's the "Land of the Free, and the Home of the Brave."
