John: I listened to last week’s “No BS Zone” with you and Bernie. Bernie was adamant that this congressional investigation into the “Politburo” (Jake Tapper’s term) was designed to do nothing more than embarrass Biden, and Bernie said he was sick of it. I disagree with Bernie. This investigation isn’t about Biden, who is gone from the political scene for good. it’s about the cabal of doctors, chiefs of staff and others in Biden’s close orbit who conspired to keep Biden’s condition a secret, including bald face lying to others in the administration and the public. The House Oversight Committee is making sure those handlers are held to account and that they do not have prominent roles in future administrations. This is a good and proper role for this committee. We don’t want the mysterious Otto Penn setting policy or signing pardons. You were fairly quiet in your response. Now that a week has passed, do you agree with me or with Bernie?

Hey John, I'll give you a week to think about this one. Have you changed your opinion on Tariffs at all?

I know you're directing this question to our esteemed host, but I think we can all chime in on this one......

For me, my position on tariffs themselves hasn't changed, since unlike Trump, I know what a tariff is, and WHO PAYS them. Trump keeps boasting about how rich the country is getting because of tariffs - American companies and consumers are PAYING those tariffs! How are we getting rich by charging ourselves? If we want to get even richer, should we tax ourselves even more? The Orange Clown then talks about giving people checks since we're bringing in so much tariff money. First, that will never happen (see DOGE checks), and second, you're just giving people back SOME of their money that you already took - just like income tax refunds.

A more interesting question is - "Have you changed your position on Trump's tariff strategy?", since he's clearly been using tariffs, or the threat of them to negotiate new trade deals. On that front, the honest answer is we don't know yet. Most large companies loaded up on inventory prior to "Liberation Day", and then took advantage of the "pause" to continue to hoard inventory. So consumers have yet to feel the full effect of these tariffs. Also, we are hearing about frameworks for deals, or concepts of deals, which Trump frames as comprehensive, thoroughly detailed agreements, which they are NOT. Many details of all of these deals are yet to be determined. So we just don't know yet, other than there will clearly be price increases for some products.

I think the reason the market is doing well is because it has adjusted, as best it can, to the never ending chaos from Trump. They adopted the TACO nickname as a leap of faith that the tariffs won't be THAT bad, and we'll adjust.

Another data point - the latest jobs numbers are well below expectations - 30%+ below, in fact (although Fox describes that as "slightly off" - I guess they are assuming MAGA's aren't very good at math.) Trump's reaction: "Maybe my policies AREN'T good for job growth?" Naw.. just fire the guy who reported the numbers. I'm waiting for him to blame Biden for the job numbers next....

Emperor, The comment I left for Bernie on his recent drop - Bernie's Time Machine: Should College Athletes Be Paid? - I also think applies to you.

You've written a ton about reverse bigotry and hatred and, correct me if I'm wrong, about little else. I don't know what experiences have led you to this. Of course, there's black-on-white bigotry. I don't know you other than your writings here, but it really seems that you're missing some introspection, empathy and proportionality.

I say this with respect.

Greetings Mr. Hadley; the short answer is a condensed version of one that I gave to Sir Bernie last year when he asked why I am so obsessed with race.

Honestly, I never used to be. Sadly in the past 2-3 decades, the focusing on race by the mainstream media, the race hustlers and the liberal Dems and others filled with white guilt (along with the need to virtue signal that they themselves are “the good white people”) have forced me to do the same. Why? Several reasons—-the idea that if I point out facts about black crime statistics, that somehow makes me a Racist. Same goes if I voted against Obama (as Sir Bernie himself wrote a column on), As Sir Bernie also commented, the mainstream media has an unspoken policiy regarding its coverage of crime, that is, the legacy reporters feel the need to show their good racial manners, so they downplay black on white crime but RELISH it when it’s white on black crime as was the truly racist attack at fhe TOPS grocery store in New York. For years the left would accuse the right of being “racist” simply to shut down honest discussions because the left doesn’t want to have those honest discussions. Oh and speaking of the TOPS grocery store shootings—Biden felt the need to condemn anti- black bigotry by a white supremacist. Okay fine, but he sure as hell didn’t feel the need to comment when a black suspect shot up a New York subway or when a trans shooter murdered a bunch of people at a Christian school in Tennessee; In those cases it was guns and lack of adequate treatment of mental illness that were to blame. For that matter, several young black victims were gunned down at a roller rink in Alabama around the same time, but because the suspects in that attack were ALSO black, well then Biden and the mainstream media pundits had nothing to say, further proving that Black Lives Matter to them ONLY under a specific set of conditions—-odd because those black teens in Alabama are just as dead as the black victims at the TOPS grocery store. Amazing how that works in the liberal media when they can’t blame white supremacy for an atrocious crime. Then after a brutal attack in Cincinnati, the mainstream media desperately tried to ignore it—-thanks to the alternative media for exposing it. Oh and once that atrocity was exposed, the local police chief Blamed everything from social media and reporters to the bartenders for the crime but NOT the thugs themselves. And to top it all off, a black city councilwoman tweeted out about how the white victims deserved the beat down. Imagine if a white Republican had said something similar about George Floyd deserving the fate that befell him. As Thomas Sowell points out —-the problem in the black community is NOT RACE—-IT’S THE CULTURE! I’m not the intellectual giant that Thomas Sowell is, but I don’t have to be in order to see that he’s correct in his conclusions. Do you, Mr. Hadley, believe that Thomas Sowell focuses too much on race ? After all, he has written tons more than I have about it, and he is a bestselling author—-something that I sm definitely not!

Re: my most recent question. I prefer a community that welcomes all skin colors and backgrounds but is exclusive for right wingers only…the Empire is a beautiful state of mind, Mr. Hadley.

Wishing you a beautiful weekend!

His Utmost Excellency, The Emperor, has spoken.

Correct m if I'm wrong, I'm going by memory. The Tops shooter was an avowed white bigot who traveled quite a distance to shoot up a store that was frequented by blacks. The latter two shooting you cite were not racially motivated or hate crimes. As you suggest, probably they involved mental illness. I understand that dead is dead, but racially motivated crimes carry an additional cruelty factor.

I viewed both video clips and read your piece above. Clearly there is a lot of black-on-white prejudice, hate and violence and yes, black-on-black violence. But you dwell on this angle. Why? Are you trying to provide balance to what you perceive? If so, consider that CERTAIN black liberals and CERTAIN white liberals might be trying to provide what they perceive as balance.

Remember, for every instance of black-on-white prejudice, hate or violence, many blacks can provide you with a dozen instances of white-on-black prejudice, hate or violence that they or their children have experienced and have to live with.

Look around you, turn on the news, there an endless stream of injustices of all kinds for you to focus on. My question to you is why you choose to focus on black-on-white prejudice, hate or violence.

"Do you ... believe that Thomas Sowell focuses too much on race ?"

I might not have enough experience with Mr. Sowell to say whether he steadfastly focuses on a PARTICULAR aspect of race matters to the exclusion of other racial matters or other matters in general. From what I have read of Mr. Sowell, while obviously coming from a basic conservative base, he writes about prejudice and bigotry in general. He does address race and prejudice. As far as I know, however, he does NOT constantly beat a drum of any one particular racial aspect to the exclusion of other aspects.

"I prefer a community that welcomes all skin colors and backgrounds but is exclusive for right wingers only…"

I wouldn't be welcome in your community. How about as a tourist? I'd provide the green! And I promise, I'll leave when my time is up.

I could give you a lengthier response but it’ll have to wait; however I do suggest you read Sir Bernie’s most recent column for further evidence. I have to wonder if Sir Bernie was reading our current give & take.

Well-behaved tourists are welcome in the Empire, so you would be more than welcome to visit the Empire

I think we keep missing each other. You could go on all day and all night about black-on-white bigotry, discrimination and violence. You could also go on all day and all night about white-on-black bigotry, discrimination and violence or about antisemitism. Similarly about non-racial bigotry, discrimination and violence. Similarly about babies and little children starving overseas and right here in the USA. You could go on all day and all night about how Palestinians are being mistreated and about how Israelis are being mistreated. Etc., etc. etc. You can go on 24/7 - 365 days a year about injustice of various sorts. But why do you choose to focus of black-on-white bigotry, discrimination and violence, which is abhorrible but definitely not the worst and certainly not the only?

Here is another video I want to share Mr. Hadley that sums up my point perfectly.

Regarding the notion about how many left swingers would see disproportionate violence against Black people from whites or discrimination against them,: that may be the case, but it is always frowned upon and criticized and rightly condemned. When it’s reverse, it’s either ignored it best or excused and cheered on at worst
